Rippingale is the perfect rural retreat, located in Moorooduc - a beautiful pocket of natural beauty often overlooked within the heart of the Mornington Peninsula and within easy access of the City. Relax and unwind in our comfortable one bedroom cottage, renovated to retain its cosy rustic character and charm, set amongst nine acres of native vegetation and wonderful bird life.
Rippingale is a self-contained one-bedroom cottage with separate bathroom, living, dining, and kitchen. A wood fired coonara and split system air conditioning/heating provide comfort in all conditions. A flat screen TV, DVD and stereo provide entertainment throughout the day, and the espresso coffee machine will get you off to a good start. The Bedroom features a king sized bed and a child size single bed with spectacular views across the valley. An infant cot is also available. Enjoy the outdoor balcony overlooking rural hinterland with BBQ facilities. Internet access is available on request.
Milk, tea and coffee and eggs (if our chooks are laying!) will be provided. Guests will however need to cater for themselves. We have a fully equipped kitchen which includes an electric oven, microwave and espresso coffee machine. A BBQ is located on the balcony outside. Alternatively, you may choose to dine out at Ciao Bella pizzeria in Balnarring or a host of award winning local wineries. For an unbeatable breakfast option, drop into Lilo Cafe by Fisherman's Beach in Mornington and say hello to our friends Maryke and Mark. Moorooduc Estate vineyard is across the road and provides gourmet sandwiches between 12 pm and 3 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Take a walk in the idyllic countryside or play a few holes on the Devilbend golf course located nearby, before heading off to the bustling sea-side town of Mornington for an evening meal or winding down and watching the sun set with a bottle of wine on Mills beach. We are 15-20 minutes from Red Hill, Balnarring Village and Mornington Peninsula's best beaches. Take a stroll at dusk through the woods at the end of Woodlands Road only 2 kms away. You may be lucky enough to spot a kangaroo or two. Visit Red Hill Community Market, or one of the 23 other markets that the Mornington Peninsula has to offer. There are many antique stores and vintage sheds nearby where you're sure to find something you just have to buy - Tyabb Packing House Antiques and The Vintage Shed are a good local start. And finally, what better way to spend an afternoon than pampering yourself at the Peninsula Hot Springs. Entering the bathing area is like stepping into another world, a sanctuary where the mind and body are calmed by the steam, the sound of running water and the casual banter of bathers. It's a place where time is forgotten.
DEVILBEND RESERVOIR RESERVE
This has recently been opened up to public access and is approximately 500 meters or a 10 minute walk away. The reserve has toilets and picnic facilities and lovely walking tracks through the native vegetation and along the waters edge. There are several fishing pontoons and waters edge access for fishing also (with a permit).
