Iconic 60s beach house: Somers
Nestled within the coastal town of Somers, 3 minutes-walk to the beach (via beach track beside the house), this three bedroom holiday home has everything you will need for your break.
The house is cosy yet comfortable, set on a generous block filled with fruit trees and plenty of room to roam. Inside you have access to all you need for a carefree and relaxed time away. The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has a set of king single bunks (large enough for the tallest teen or adult!). The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need and the pantry is open for you to use. In-house movies are available and there are plenty of old style games for your enjoyment.
The house is 200 metres to the beach, with access via the beach track running beside the house. The well-known Somers General Store is three minutes-walk away, Coolart wetlands and Koala reserve just down the road.
A wonderful spot to relax and unwind, Somers is an easy 60 minute-drive from Melbourne’s CBD (even less from the eastern suburbs via the connected freeways). Somers is a great place to retreat from the bustle of life and the busier side of the peninsula, Somers offers stunning natural beauty in its beaches (often visited by dolphins!) and local area.
The highlights of Red Hill and the rest of the Peninsula are an enjoyable drive away. Activities in the region include an endless selection of wineries, ashcombe maze, strawberry picking, Point Leo (the old style retro café is awesome!), Flinders, Red Hill, horseback winery tours, see native animals at the Moonlit Sanctuary, visit one of the many markets and the Peninsula Spas is only a 25 minute drive through spectacular countryside.
