Located just off the main street in Anglesea, this beach house is nestledon the hill surrounded by trees. A greatnew north facing deck overlooks a lovely view of the bushland. Walk into a large open living area with combined living, dining and kitchen areas with fireplace. Off the kitchen is a 2nd lounge area with TV perfect for the kids to have some time alone, while the adults can enjoy a drink and the view on one of the two decks. The 3 large bedrooms are perfect for a beach getaway. The house is a typical rustic Anglesea beach house but has a few updated features including air-conditioning, a new BBQ, new floorboards throughout and a dishwasher. Come down and enjoy the lovely house on the hill.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ON TOP OF THE HILL HOLIDAY HOUSE On the Top of the Hill – Holiday House in Anglesea 26 Edward Street Anglesea This booking was made from 31 March to 2 April 2018, the Easter Break. This review is meant to provide some constructive criticisms regarding the above Holiday House. I suggest that in the address provided it should be described as being “ on the corner of Edward Street”. The person arriving instinctively turns left into Edward and therefore has to go around again to identify the house on the corner. The first impression arriving at the property is very negative. The front garden is grossly unkempt. I suggest that the small rockery near the lower drive be removed to allow for easier turning as the drive itself is quite steep. Entering via the back door is another negative impression with the unkempt deck and even more unkempt upward sloping back area and the back area of the house badly needing repair and painting. The let down continues as you enter the main living area with two very old worn couches, plastic chairs around picnic type tables in the kitchen area and the whole kitchen area old and worn. If adults want to watch TV while sitting by the fireplace, this is not possible as the TV is located in the “second living area” .I suggest that a second TV point should be located in the main living area. Going out onto the front deck, you can see the weatherboards of the house are crumbling away and need replacing and painting. While the bedrooms are large, there is very little furniture. In the main bedroom, there are no no night lamps so if you want to read in bed, you have to keep the main central light on. The second double bedroom has bedside tables but no lamps and no wardrobe. The same for the third bedroom with the twin beds. It has a wardrobe but no bedside tables and no lamps. There are no decorations on any of the walls. It is very clear that the house is being renovated but it is being let while this is being done. The position of the house itself is also not handy to anything on foot. Anglesea proper has to be reached by car as there is no public transport close by It appears that new flooring was installed but I suggest there be an instruction booklet on keeping it clean. Walking on the floor leaves foot prints which need to be mopped away. For a house that should accommodate a certain number of people, there are few large pots or pans available. There are some positive points to the house which include the large bedrooms, the beds are comfortable, the view from the upper deck of the hills and bush is very nice and the fireplace on a cold evening would be very pleasant. I believe that we were charged too high a rental for a property which has fallen into disrepair and needs a lot of work before it can live up to the description on the SurfCoast Holidays site. I will be posting this review on TripAdvisor also. On behalf of the family
