Gwinganna Country House is a unique property nestled high in the hills adjacent to the National Park overlooking the spectacular Otway Ranges and Apollo Bay township.
Comfortably accommodating gatherings with three bedrooms and separate rainforest sleep-out a few steps away. The main house boasts 2 queen size bedrooms and a light and airy loft with 2 single beds that made up as a king bed if required. The separate rainforest room has a queen size bed and breathtaking views.
The eclectic interior has a touch of the old and new with a slow cook Rayburn stove accompanied by modern facilities - electric stove, dishwasher, walk-in pantry, Ipod dock, WIFI, amazing art, rustic furniture and controlled reverse cycle heating/cooling. There is a main bathroom & separate powder room, (2 toilets)
The separate games room allows for some good old fashioned fun with friends around the billiard table or table tennis table.
Outdoor decks provides delightful reading areas with magnificent rain forests and gardens. Alternatively just sit and take in the view and you'll find yourself in a meditative state of mind in no time at all. Cap the day off with a BBQ and outdoor dining while the sun sets over that glorious valley.
Perfectly positioned between rainforest and all the glorious beaches of Apollo Bay, Gwinganna has much to offer those seeking sanctuary from the rush and crush of the city. The property was formerly a market garden and the house is now surrounded by a picturesque gardens including an array of Japanese maples, weeping cherry trees, camellias, perennials and mountain ash gums set on 1 hectare of private grounds.

Apollo Bay is just 43km from Lorne and 185km from Melbourne, along with Great Ocean Road. This charming seaside fishing and farming village is tucked on the edge of a broad, curved beach, with the Otway ranges in the background. The local fishing fleet is moored in the bay, protected by a breakwater.
Payment and Cancellation Policy
No refunds on deposits. Balance on tariff not refundable on amount paid one month prior to bookings or days thereafter unless the property is re-let.
Payment of deposit or total fee for your booking indicates acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
Payment will be made by credit card only, unless otherwise agreed. A deposit of 50% of our total fee is required to confirm your booking if you book more than 4 weeks prior to your arrival. If you book less than 4 weeks prior to your arrival, the total fee (ie 100%) must be paid to confirm your booking.
The balance of payment will be charged to the same credit card that was used to pay the deposit (unless we are informed otherwise), one month prior to your arrival. You must only provide credit card details for which you are authorised to use.Use of American Express incurs a surcharge of 3%. Once full payment is made, no refunds will be given.Security for payments required under these terms and conditions must be provided by credit card. Payment must be made, in Australian dollars. By making payment of the total fee, you have an exclusive licence to occupy the property for the days specified when you book (but not possession).
The number of guests staying at the property must not exceed the number agreed to in the booking details. In the event that any additional persons stay at the property, an additional fee may be charged according to our usual rates and/or we reserve the right to terminate the booking without refund.
If extensive additional cleaning is required, this will be charged for using the credit card provided for payment (or left for security). The general house rules for pet guests are to not allow them on the beds and furniture and to clean up after them before leaving the property. Guests will be liable for any necessary cleaning and dry-cleaning if required. Additionally, the number of pet guests must be disclosed clearly at the time of booking and will also be noted on your invoice.
Properties are non-smoking indoors.

You are responsible for leaving the property in the state in which you found it on arrival. All breakages or losses must be reported immediately to us. Whilst we will not pursue reimbursement for minor accidental damage or normal wear and tear, the total cost of making good any other damage or loss to the property, garden or contents will be charged for using the credit card provided for payment (or left for security). Please note this includes the removal of consumable items from the property which are provided for guest use whilst in-house and are not intended as individual use presentations (examples include laundry powder, dishwashing liquid, toiletries provided in dispensers etc).It is our policy to have all locks changed if keys are lost or not returned. All associated costs will be charged to the credit card provided for payment (or left for security) if this occurs. Similarly any remote controls will be replaced at your cost if lost or not returned.
Properties may also include interim cleaning services for stays of longer than a week. This will be detailed in your pre arrival information. Guests are expected to leave the properties in a neat and tidy state without the need for extensive, excessive cleaning. You are responsible for all cleaning charges in the event that the property is left in a state that requires more than standard cleaning. This will be charged for using the credit card provided for payment (or left for security)
Properties which provide local telephone calls included in the rate, do so for up to 6 calls per day. Costs for additional calls may be passed onto guests.Guest items found by our cleaning staff are kept for 6 weeks before discarding. It is the guest's responsibility to follow up any items that may have been left behind at the property. We request that guests send a reply paid envelope in order for us to return the items.
By-laws prohibits functions of any sort. Functions are defined as being gatherings over and above the resident guests nominated on the booking form.
