Rich in indigenous history and boasting stunning views, the area has recently become part of the Kanawinka Geopark. At the foot of red rock reserve and adjacent to Coragulac House and Red Rock Winery, there are many walks on private roads or through the paddocks to admire the breathtaking views, one can relax and leave the hustle and bustle behind. Originally a small family dairy the cottage oozes charm and character whilst still maintaining modern comforts. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not long enough!!! We stayed here as we had a wedding nearby. Leonie was very accommodating allowing us to check in earlier to get ready. The following morning (when we had a chance to look around) we were very surprised at how lovely the property and surrounds were - a great view out of every window. Wish we could have stayed longer and could have brought the kids. They would have loved to see the baby goats (kids ;-) ) and the donkey. Make sure you go up to the lookout near the property. It'll give you a fantastic appreciation of the area and the interesting landscape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quaint and relaxing We spent a lovely couple of nights in Alvie at this beautiful cottage which was a real step back in time experience. We slowed our city lifestyle pace and totally relaxed amongst the fruit trees, listening to the donkeys braying and the goats bleating. Highlight was of course the kid triplets. One week old and oh so cute. Perfect weekend in the country in a lovely cottage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unique and superb cottage Stayed a single night. However, this place has really got some character. Designed as a 19th century house, although with electrical heating devices (necessary!), very special and interesting, fully equipped with every little detail. Isolated location, peaceful, clean and generous. The owner is very kind and helpful. Our kids enjoyed so much the space inside and outside, the fruit trees and feeding the donkeys and goats. Just a short drive from the scenic lookout Red Rock.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gorgeous Cottage We were able to stay two nights in this well preserved cottage. It was a great location for us, at the base of Red Rock and surrounded by paddocks. The kids had a ball. Lot's of walks, fresh air and farm animals to interact with. After a very long drive, Leonie's hospitality was so welcoming. When we arrived VIC was experiencing a cold snap and wild winds. The house withstood the weather and there were plenty blankets to go around.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Rural Retreat We spend a weekend at this cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage contains some amazing furniture and artefacts from years gone by. Comfy beds, lovely views and beautiful surroundings. There are some donkeys and miniature goats in the paddock next door, and we were lucky enough to see several new born babies, so incredibly cute! It is in a rural location but within easy drive of all services. We loved the country feel to the cottage and so did my kids. We would defiantly stay here again.
