Red Rock historical cottage is nestled into the rolling hills of the Volcanic Lakes and Craters region. Alvie was named after the Scottish village within the Aviemore region of the Cairngorm Mountains by the early settlers. Rich in indigenous history and boasting stunning views, the area has recently become part of the Kanawinka Geopark. At the foot of Red Rock Reserve close to Red Rock Winery, there are many walks on private roads or through the paddocks to admire the breathtaking views. One can relax and leave the hustle and bustle behind. Originally a small family dairy owned by the infamous CLIFFIE YOUNG, the cottage oozes charm and character whilst still maintaining modern comforts. Set on over six acres, one can meander through the orchard, pat the pet miniature goats and Irish donkeys and get a taste of country life or sample the local wines. Alternatively, hop in the car for a leisurely drive to charming town of Birregurra or to the Great Ocean Road in any direction....Lorne, Apollo Bay, Johanna or visit the Twelve Apostles at Port Campbell. Colac the closest major town is 10 minutes away where one can enjoy the beautiful botanical gardens, sample local produce or delve into the magic of the Otways.
