Offering 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms Our House is a Californian bungalow built at the turn of the 20th century and lovingly updated and modernised at the turn of the 21st century. Located in the Ballinasloe heritage precinct, it is one of a row of interwar bungalows and in a neighbourhood which includes a cute row of miners' cottages transported to Geelong from Ballarat.
Our House is easy to get to and is central to both local facilities and visitor attractions in southern and central Victoria. There is plenty of vehicle parking and public transport options are nearby. Our House hosts reside nearby and will be happy to assist you in whatever way possible.
Once you are settled in to your accommodation the attractions of Geelong and beyond beckon. Geelong's famed waterfront precinct is only a 5-10 minute drive, or a 25 minute walk. Be sure to visit the Art Deco Eastern Beach swimming promenade and children's pool, seek out the famous bollards and artworks and dine near the bay.
The location allows a short, five to 10 minute walk to local supermarkets, restaurants, take-away food shops, hotel and medical centre. A ten minute walk also brings you to cosmopolitan Pakington Street where you'll encounter cafes and coffee shops, boutique shopping, bakeries, a public library, fresh produce and some of Geelong's best pubs, bars and restaurants. A leisurely 25 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) will see you in central Geelong and our wonderful north facing waterfront. Local parks and playgrounds are even closer.
Geelong Rail Station and the Geelong Law Courts are a 20 minute walk or 7 minute drive away. Deakin University's waterfront campus can be easily reached from the house. Public and Private Hospitals are also a 10 minute drive away.
The start of the Great Ocean Road and surfing spiritual home Bells Beach at Torquay is a 25 minute drive. The goldfields and history at Ballarat can be reached in an hour. Victoria's capital city, Melbourne is only an hour away by car or train. Explore the Bellarine, our local peninsula, boasting wineries, a huge adventure water park, historic towns such as Queenscliff, fishing villages like Portarlington and expansive beaches.
Our House can comfortably sleep eight (trundle beds not suitable for tall adults) and offers four bedrooms, ensuite with shower and toilet, bathroom with spa bath and shower, separate toilet, modern kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, spacious dining and living area and a covered outdoor deck with a BBQ available on request.
Sleeping configuration: bedrooms 1 & 3 - queen bed; bedrooms 2 & 4 - single bed with pull-out single trundle bed. A camp bed for small children and a cot can also be provided upon request.
Your comfort and convenience is taken care of with a gas heater, air conditioner and included WiFi internet access. The laundry includes front loader washing machine and dryer. The house is self-contained with fresh, quality linen and towels included. Secure fencing for children & off-street parking for three cars is available (one carport).
Being in a residential area we ask guests to please be respectful of our neighbours. Loud music, yelling, parties or other functions are not permitted (there are plenty of bars and entertainment venues not too far away!).
Inside is strictly non-smoking.
