Exceptional ocean views and 150 metres to the beach and rock pools.

Ambleside is a 4 bedroom house only 150 metres from the beach. All rooms have water views and the house has spacious family living over two levels. The upper level comprises a kitchen/living/dining area which opens onto large outside decking, a powder room and a master bedroom with ensuite. The lower level has the entry hall, three bedrooms, bathroom with separate toilet and a second living zone with adjoining decks.

The upper deck overlooks the beach and has panoramic views of Louttit Bay from Airey’s Inlet to the Lorne pier, the lower two decks look at Airey’s Inlet and Lorne pier respectively. Move from deck to deck to follow the sun.

Sit on the upper deck to enjoy the sunrise over Loutitt Bay; wave to your family whilst they are at the beach; relax inside listening to music, or just listen to the waves. Relax at the end of the day on the lower deck where the sun will be shining. In the spring, watch out for whales playing in the water directly in front of the house.

The house has environmental electric heating in all rooms for the cooler holiday months and air-conditioning and a ceiling fan in the main living area for the warmer months.

Car parking is available in the 2 car garage.

Ambleside is situated in a very quiet area and is a short walk to Lorne’s famous Mountjoy Parade restaurants, cafés and shops.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stay over Christmas - some suggestions Overall a great stay for 3 adults over Christmas. Magnificent views from upstairs greeted us on arrival and friendly cockatoos came around throughout our stay. Two cars fitted easily in the garage. The house (especially the kitchen) was well equipped, and on arrival seemed very clean inside (although after an asthmatic first night we discovered a lot of dust behind a bedside table). Lovely furniture upstairs including 3 magnificent leather lounges, a very long dining table and a telescope for looking at the beach etc – furniture in the downstairs living area was past its use-by date. Bathrooms beautifully presented. Beds and bedding ok but the doonas were rather too hot for the season – we suggest providing some light cotton blankets. Outdoor areas were nice (including outdoor shower with hot water) although there were quite a few cobwebs on windows and elsewhere. The gas barbecue needed a lot of cleaning before use but otherwise worked well. The reverse cycle air conditioner in the main living area was quite effective upstairs but on our one very warm day and night, the downstairs part of the house was too hot to occupy – some cooling is needed in that area. A notice in the kitchen required us to “leave the house as we found it” which might indicate that no cleaner was employed between lettings. If that is the situation, it would seem unusual for a holiday house. In any case we spent quite some time cleaning the house during our stay and on our last morning and left it better than we found it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fabulous House My family and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend at Ambleside. It is a fabulous house with plenty of room for all the family. It has a large and very well equipped kitchen and is very clean and well presented.It is only a twenty minute stroll into town along the beautiful beach and the view from the deck is beautiful. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back.
