Pelican Lane Lodge is located in a unique and private location, at Pelican Lane at Nelson.
The Lodge resides on our property of 5 acres of native bush and and pasture, and is joined by a common external wall to our private residence, with its own driveway, entry and garden. It sleeps a maximum of 6 guests. The Lodge is constructed of bluestone, and log panel walls. Ceilings are timber, with heaps of character.
The very large queen bedroom, has antique furniture and beautiful linens, with views of the river through the trees and the Southern Ocean in the distance, a kilometre away. The double bed with single bunk bed over it, and double sofa bed, is in the large kitchen/ dining / lounge area. There is a comfortable single fold up bed available that can fit in either room.
The very large bath room needs to be seen, is most unusual, and is entirely original The peach colored spa bath holds 2 people quite comfortably, and you can gaze into the mirrored tiles at each other.... The large shower can fit two people easily.
A fully equipped kitchen with microwave, oven and hotplates, an extensive range of pots pans, etc etc.
There is an extensive range of books, toys and dvd's to entertain. Outside is a bbq with gas supplied...and covered patio with table and chairs for 4.
Towels and nice linen are supplied.
I cannot accurately describe how simply beautiful this part of Nelson is. It's very private, with abundant birdlife such as Swans, Sacred Ibis and Pelicans flying overhead to the river. There are kangaroos and echidnas that wander around, and too many rabbits I think there are 15 rabbits that live on our property...
It's a 1.5 km walk to the pub from here.
Heaps of parking for boats and vehicles.
