Tawarri House is a stunning, architect designed limestone house set on an acre of natural bushland right next to the Glenelg River. Its large floor to ceiling windows look out onto the beautiful natural garden, where kangaroos and other wildlife love to graze in the morning and evenings.
The house has a lovely homely feel, with a fully appointed kitchen and a choice of open-fire/potbelly/wood-stove to make it cosy on those chilly nights. The main living space is open plan and looks out to a delightful courtyard to the north where and to the native bush garden to the west.
There are two bedrooms, with a queen sized bed in the master bedroom, two bunks in the second bedroom and a pull-out sofa bed in the main living area. The main bathroom has been recently renovated and has a spa bath with a separate toilet. There is a second, smaller bathroom that is accessed from the outside area if needed.
The kitchen has a slow combustion wood stove, an electric stove and a microwave oven to choose from, as well as all the essentials like toaster, kettle, saucepans etc.
In a secluded nook within the garden is a beautiful 3.5 m round building that was specifically designed for yoga and meditation. Sitting in the centre of this lovely room, the sound of your breathing is naturally amplified by the circular walls.
The Tawarri House shares the property with the Tawarri Cottage, another beautiful limestone building, which is self-contained and is rented separately or together with the house for larger groups.
