Swim and surf at Ocean Grove’s patrolled beach. Younger children can enjoy swimming off the spit’s sandy beach in the flat water of the Barwon River. Sail or take the power boat out in the river estuary (boat ramp 1.3 km, 3 mins drive) or catch fish off one of the two jetties on the Barwon Heads side of the river (6 mins drive). Walk along the river and across the bridge to Barwon Heads. Eat out or have coffee at the many cafes and restaurants in Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads. Geelong Adventure Park - great for the kids and loads of fun - is 6.2 kms. and 8 mins drive out Wallington Road. Lorne, on the Great Ocean Road, is one hour away.
Drive to Queenscliff's historic port & township 20 minutes away and ride the steam train, visit the Marine Discovery Centre or take the ferry ride across the Bay (45 mins.) to Sorrento and Portsea. Australia’s surfing capital Torquay is 20 mins. away. Golfers are well-catered for by the nearby championship golf course, while award winning wineries are just up the road.
