Most people know how great the Ocean Grove surf beach is, but the real jewel in Ocean Groves' crown is the Barwon River. The Barwon is a coastal tidal river so the scenery is forever changing with the incoming and outgoing tides. This wide but but mostly shallow river gives the appearance of a very large lake abundant with bird life. Locals and tourists alike love to walk, jog or cycle along it daily and with this property the path is just outside your door.
The river is fantastic to swim, fish, sail, kayak or paddleboard.
The westerly aspect often presents you with spectacular sunsets from across the water which you can take in from both balconies, all living and dining areas as well as all four bedrooms.
Location - Most people want it, very few have it.
An Ideal holiday house is not just about the views, location is important too and this house is all about location.
If you love to walk then this is the property for you as nearly everything is walking distance from the property. The Surf Beach, Restaurants, Cafes, Shopping, Golf Course and Bowls Club are all accessible via a short to medium walk.
If you enjoy a longer walk, the walk to Barwon Heads and back via the surf beach is very satisfying especially if you stop along the way at the Dunes Café O.G. Surf club for a Cappuccino or even breakfast.
An added bonus for the keen fisherman or jet skier is the boat ramp to access the river and the ocean is just a few hundred meters away. The property has ample off street parking for jet skis or a small boat.
We have set the place with the intention for our guests to have the most comfortable and enjoyable holiday in arguably one of the best locations possible. The multiple living areas inside and out allow you to make the most of your holiday in style.
The property has four bedrooms two bathrooms plus an ensuite bathroom. It has two kitchenettes , two living and dining areas. We have bbq areas both upstairs and downstairs.
There is two balconies, one has magnificent 180 degree views of the river the other is a very large alfresco BBQ area fully weatherproof also with river views. This area now has a ten seat dining setting for large get togethers.
There is a magnificent "pub beer garden" style BBQ area outside featuring a herb garden and great views over the water which has just been completed.
There is also a very large 2 car garage with plenty of additional space to store canoes/surfboards etc.
Three of the main bedrooms are very spacious, each of these has a Queen size bed. One has an ensuite the other two bedrooms both adjoin separate bathrooms. The fourth bedroom features a double plus single bunk bed. The house comfortably sleeps 8 adults and one child.
A terrific feature of this property is that both upstairs and downstairs are basically each self contained with their own kitchen, two bedrooms, a living and dining area and at least one bathroom on each level. This makes the property ideal for two families to share so they can each maintain some space and privacy if required.
One of our guests best described it as " Its like two houses for the price of one".
The house has been subject to a recently completed major extension and renovation and is now modern and mostly new.
The house features modern appliances and the focus has been on modern and comfortable furnishings that retain a rustic/beach resort style.
The kitchens like most of the property are new and well equipped. Three split systems take care of cooling and heating.
The house is light and airy with ample windows and sliding doors to take full advantage of views and the sea breeze off the water.
Linen is supplied and beds are freshly made for guests prior to arrival. A portacot with matress is also available for guests with a young baby/child. linen not supplied for portacot.
The property now has free wifi internet for guests as well.
