Blauvelt Park was originally built as the manse for the Presbyterian Church in Terang and dates from the mid1870's.

It comprises a main hall; drawing room; library; TV room; formal and informal dining rooms; modern kitchen; separate laundry/boot room; two bathrooms and five bedrooms that can sleep ten adults. There is also capacity for an extra two people on a sofa bed in the main bedroom.

All beds are queen size and all bedding is provided including goose down pillows, doonas and all bed linen.

The library is a quiet refuge with well over 3,000 fiction and non-fiction volumes spanning a broad range of styles and topics. There are also jigsaws and board games for those cold Winter nights.

The drawing room has a large bay window and French doors that give access directly to the garden and is a cool and restful place on Summer evenings.

The formal dining room seats 10 people and is a lovely room for evening dining with French doors open to the garden.

The TV room has a wood burning fire, a large TV screen and DVD player. There is a library of 250 or more DVDs to suit all tastes.

The kitchen is a fully functioning family kitchen with all of the appliances that would be expected at home and the pantry is well stocked with the necessary cooking and tea/coffee making essentials.

There are two bathrooms - both with claw foot baths and separate showers. Towels and toiletries are provided.

The house is hydronically and electrically heated and there are wood buring fires in the TV room and the Main Hall.

Blauvelt Park is surrounded by eight acres of wild gardens. There is an established cypress maze; orchard; tree house; rose garden and a birch labyrinth. A sheltered north facing courtyard provides a sheltered area for relaxing to the sound of a trickling fountain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grand in every way!! Four generations of our family spent Easter at this magnificent property. Every room was beautifully decorated, exuding opulence and class. The house is big!! We all felt we had plenty of space to relax or mix with the others. The children loved the maze, tree house and just roaming the vast grounds. There is no need to leave the house if you arrive stocked with food. It was lovely retiring to the library after dinner. We all felt we had returned to an era past whilst exploring the amazing collections and books that the owners have gathered over the years. Stayed at many places over the years and I struggle to think of a place I have enjoyed more. Thank you Ashley and Chris !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Our favourite place to stay This was our 3rd visit to Blauvelt Park and each time we discover new things to enjoy in this beautiful home. The kitchen is a fabulous hub for activity and is amazingly well equipped. The bedrooms are gorgeous each one with its own theme. We made a big effort to use each of the living rooms for a gathering on this occasion so had dinner in the formal dining room as well as the informal dining room and breakfasts in the kitchen, drinks in the formal living room and in the library (probably everyone's favourite room). Ashely and Chris are wonderful hosts and we can't wait to come back again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly beautiful house This was our first stay and we absolutely loved it. The house is grand but beautiful and comfortable. It was spacious, warm and welcoming. Dealing with Ashley was a delight, he made everything so easy. We will certainly be returning, this amazing house is certainly worth a trip no matter from where you are traveling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant home for a family long weekend This was our second stay at Blauvelt Park and it was just as fabulous as the first time, if not more so! A wonderful home, Blauvelt Park is spacious with high ceilinged rooms that evoke a sense of grandeur from a bygone era. The bedrooms are elegant and comfortable and there are so many living areas that even though there were 10 of us staying there was always somewhere you could escape to if you wanted some quiet time. Being winter we got to enjoy a different aspect of the house - roaring fires and cosy hydronic heating. The library and the TV room were lovely places to spend a chilly winter's afternoon. The kitchen is so well equipped that we ate in all weekend - it was a great place to chat and have a drink while we prepared dinner. We've now stayed there in Autumn and Winter and looking forward to experiencing it in Spring and Summer too.
