The Bunkhouse offers the perfect accommodation for groups of up to 32 people. It consists of 2 main bunkrooms, male and female, which contain 7 double bunks each. Off each of these rooms there are bathrooms with 2 showers and two toilets. There is another bunkroom with 2 double bunks which usually accommodates teachers or parents.
There is a fully equipped commercial kitchen which is adjacent to the large common room. This main room has 3 couches and two large tables with chairs making it suitable for group meetings and activities. There is a large coonara wood heater, electric wall heaters in the living area and a wall mounted flat screen television.
This property is owned and operated by the Wye River Surf Lifesaving Club and is booked out by the club over the summer period.
The Wye River store/restaurant and the Ocean Beach Hotel are within a 3 minute walk from the bunkhouse. Both serve excellent meals.
Wye beach is also just a short walk away across the Great Ocean Road. Wye River is a renowned spot for great surfing and fishing.
The township is within the Otway ranges which means that there is plenty of birdlife and wildlife to be observed and enjoyed. There are many bush tracks suitable for bushwalking and trail riding groups.
The Bunkhouse is accredited for school groups and is used by numerous schools for recreational holidays for students. The Surf Lifesaving Club also hires out their clubrooms for functions if required.
