This 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is the perfect holiday destination offering a comfortable, spacious, fully equipped home with breathtaking views of Mallacoota’s waterways, the Ocean and Gabo Island from the decking and master bedroom.
Located 1km from the centre of town, it’s only a short distance to the picturesque boardwalk making it an easy stroll or cycle into town, plus easy access to the boat jetty for launching. There is off street parking for cars and a boat, with a 2 bay covered carport (off Raheen Drive).
Fairy-Wren House easily accommodates up to 15 people* and is an entertainers paradise with the spacious layout, large decking area (with a 4 burner BBQ) and stunning views.
*The nightly rate listed is for 6 people and additional people are charged $10 per night (or by negotiation) – to cover extra cleaning and energy costs.
The residence features two living areas and a fully equipped kitchen. The formal living area is fully carpeted and has two couches, a large formal dining table, piano, fireplace, small bar and reverse-cycle air conditioning (heating and cooling). The casual living and dining area has two leather couches and a six seater dining table next to the fully equipped kitchen and reverse-cycle air-conditioner (heating and cooling).
The kitchen is large with a gas stove, electric wall oven, microwave, a dish washer and fridge, plus a range of cooking gadgets that includes, turbo cooker, steamer, rice cooker and other items to help meal preparation, as well as a coffee machine (takes Expressi capsules).
Both living rooms have Smart TVs with wifi for streaming via devices.
SLEEPING CONFIGURATION: - sleeps up to 15 people
The nightly rate listed is for sleeping 6 people and additional people are charged $10 per night – to cover extra cleaning and energy costs. Please advise when booking if you have more than 6 people so the sleeping arrangement can be setup.
- Master bedroom is a spacious comfortable retreat. A deluxe Queen bed – where you can lay
back and watch the ocean views. It boasts a seating area, on-suite bathroom (shower & toilet),
separate walk-in-robe, fan and wall mounted TV
- Queen bedroom – deluxe Queen bed with built-in robes
- Three bunk room (one bunk bed and a single king bed) and built-in robes
- Four bunk sleep-out room (two bunk beds)
- Additional sleeping arrangements can be made on a fold out Queen ottoman and blow-up Queen air mattress.
Main bathroom has spa bath and shower. A separate toilet is located next to laundry.
Also please note, the Hot Water system is set to reheat off-peak over night, however with large numbers the BOOSTER HOT WATER BUTTON (in the power box - next to entry to main bathroom) that can be pressed in the evening - so you’ll never run out of hot water.
The laundry has two washing machines and two dryers and an outside rotary cloths line.
All linen, bedding and towels are supplied.
The house is a smoke and dog free zone. The garden is fully fenced and suitable for guests with dogs that are happy to be outside.
Mallacoota has breathtaking lakes, beaches and coastline and a multitude of activities to enjoy.
There are four stunning beaches:
1. Bastion Point - the main beach, is an awesome 14km stretch of sandy beach with fishing,
swimming and wonderful surfing.
2. Betka Beach - is ideally located at the mouth of the Bekta River, is ideal for family barbecues and
a favourite small children swimming spot.
3. Quarry Beach - is ideal for walks and beach rod fishing and further along
4. Secret Beach - is accessible via a bush track.
The native plants attract an astonishing array of native birds (over 170 species have been identified in the surrounding national park). There are two bird feeders in Fairy-Wren garden, and nearby Koala’s can be seen on occasions and a large group of kangaroos which have been befriended by the locals.
The house is within walking distance of the Mallacoota shared pathway for bicycles and pedestrians and four fishing platforms, located a short stroll from the house at the bottom of the hill.
Sporting amenities include an 18 hole golf course, three tennis courts, lawn bowls and numerous fishing opportunities in the lake and sea.
There is a new all-weather boat launching facility for ocean going boats, with moorings and parking, making going over the bar unnecessary.
Options such as bush walking, cycling, canoeing, wind surfing, bird watching, fishing, surfing, golfing, lawn bowls are available, not to forget enjoying the excellent cuisine in four restaurants is a must. Fishing boats, push bikes and kayaks can be hired over summer.
