Paynesville is a delightful coastal town, better known as 'the boating capital of Victoria'. It's surrounded by lakes on 3 sides with many canals and inlets. The lakes are perfect for motor cruisers, yachts, power boats, jet skis and kayaks. You might like to fish for flat head, bream or mullet, or hopefully watch the dolphins that are well known to this area. (Boat hire is available from Bulls Cruisers in Slip Rd).
You’ll find many cafes and restaurants and a wide variety of retail outlets including 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, 2 bakeries and a wine bar which has live entertainment on weekends. There's safe swimming areas and playgrounds, an 18 hole golf course just out of town and a bowls club plus many walking trails to keep wanderers happy.
