Two bedroom house located in the historic town of Blackwood, only one hour from Melbourne.
Spend your time relaxing in the lounge with spacious couch, Foxtel and wood heater or outside on the huge front deck with its own wood heater and bbq. If being out and about is more your thing there's certainly plenty to do
Sleeps up to 7 people. The main bedroom has a comfy queen bed and built in robes. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with double and single. The couch would sleep two comfortably. Linen is provided for all bedrooms and towels are also provided. Portacot available on request.
We also have a caravan in the backyard with easy access to the house that can sleep an additional 2 people. This can be booked in addition to the house for $20 pp per night. Please message to let us know if you’d like to add this to your booking.
All renovations mentioned in early reviews are complete, the back and front yards of the property are completely functional
Take a 5 minute walk into the town centre and visit the Blackwood Hotel, est 1898, it is the oldest weatherboard hotel with a continuous licence. Enjoy delicious pub food and a great view out on the open deck or enjoy a drink inside in front of the open fire place. There's also The Blackwood Merchant just across the road in town that has great coffee, food and wonderful views from the back deck.
Just a 5 minute drive down the road you will find the St Erth cafe, you can enjoy a light lunch or some scones with tea, be sure to take a stroll through the beautiful gardens.
Visit the Blackwood Mineral Springs Reserve, one kilometer east of the town center, with picnic and BBQ shelters and two different mineral springs. From there you can enjoy a few scenic walking tracks.
For trail riders, Blackwood is located in the center of the Wombat state forest with direct access to the forest across the road from this property. From here there is an abundance of tracks from single to main fire trails where you can ride to places like Trentham East, with the popular Pig and Whistle hotel, or as far as Macedon. Rec registration is recommended.
A 10 minute drive will take you to Trentham where you can see the Trentham Falls, one of the longest single drop waterfalls in Victoria
A 30 minute drive will take you to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs, enjoy a day at the spa or experience the range of restaurants, wineries and more.
