The Hide Homestead B&B is perfect for guests who want to have a short stay in this wonderful region to experience the best of the wine and food on offer. For this reason we offer breakfast only and are not set up for self catering. There is NO kitchen, cooking or BBQ facilities.
The Hide Homestead owners have five years experience in making guests feel welcome and at home- see GUEST COMMENTS below and reviews on The Hide @ Mt Franklin and Central Springs Cottage to gauge the quality of our service and accommodation.
The Hide Homestead B&B, the west wing of our home, has recently been beautifully renovated for guests wanting a special escape.
We built our adobe homestead in 1999, and have spent the years since making it the wonderful environmentally conscientious property it is today. Nestled in the foothills of Mt Franklin on a picturesque 44 acres, you can sit all day looking up at the changing vistas of the extinct volcano and never get bored.
Feel yourself relax and unwind as soon as you step onto the plush carpet in the one bedroom apartment, located at one end of our our spacious home, completely separate with its own private entrance. There is a living room, bathroom and separate toilet.
If you are looking for self contained where you can cook and/or have a BBQ you should consider The Hide @ Mt Franklin our self contained studio, also on our property.
We have carefully chosen a queen size pillow top bed dressed in French linen or beautiful crisp cotton for that feel of luxury. The north facing private sitting room looks out onto the expansive verandah clothed in a luscious grapevine with close up views to the hills and mount. The earth coloured bathroom, with 6ft bath and rainforest shower rose, over looks the courtyard. Deluxe towels are provided and the toilet suite is separate and private.
Sukin organics soap & shampoo products are supplied for your exclusive use. The company maintains a strong stance on the environment and sustainability and the products have been certified as 100 Carbon Neutral, Cruelty Free, and Vegan for many years now.
The bedroom is adjacent to your courtyard garden furnished with adirondack chairs to sit back and take in the rural vistas.
Other amenities include tea and coffee making facilities, small bar fridge, Bose speaker and iPod music selection. The insulating properties of adobe construction mean that ceiling fans will keep you cool in summer and gas heating warm in winter.
Sit & relax in our comfy armchairs, wander the country roads, engage with our farm animals and much much more. The Homestead B & B is only 10 minutes from all the action in Daylesford and only a few minutes away from the famous Chocolate Mill.
Unfortunately The Hide Homestead is not designed for children or pets but you may like to consider a family/pet holiday at The Hide @ Mt Franklin Studio.
A party of 6 could book out both the Studio see listing The Hide @ Mt Franklin and the B & B. Four guests could stay in the studio 50 metres away and two in the B&B.
Get away from your over shared and screen based life and plug yourself into nature
Have a real break and "digital detox" at the Hide Homestead Bed & Breakfast
Daily breakfast is included in the tariff and consists of our home made sour dough bread and spreads for toast, home made muesli, yoghurt, fresh fruit and plunger coffee or quality tea.
Enjoy it in bed, in the living room or al fresco.
If you would like us to have some of your favourite things in the fridge when you arrive please let us know. There is a small handling charge for this.
DO YOU WANT TO LEARN HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SOUR DOUGH BREAD?
We offer private classes during your stay and you get to take home some extra bread . Ask us for more information - subject to availability.
As the Homestead has just opened we are short on reviews. To get a feel for the quality of accommodation and hospitality we offer visit our other property sites - The Hide @ Mt Franklin and Central Springs Cottage where there are heaps of reviews.
We want our guests to have a totally relaxing break and enjoy our beautiful environment. As our water comes from the sky into our tanks, electricity from the sun into our batteries and from the gas man into our bottles we ask guests to feel pampered but mindful when using these precious commodities. Thank you.
We have animals on our property. Inside the Homestead paddock we have chooks chickens, geese, our cat Idgie and our dog Tully. On the rest of the property we have six, fat friendly cows who are employed to keep the grass short and look pretty in the paddock. They have this job for life.
The Hide is a shared property. There may be guests staying in the studio 60 metres away and facing away from the Homestead and we, the owners are living at one end of the house. The walls are mud brick. From a reasonable hour we need to feed animals and do essential chores. We endeavour not to disturb our guests. We request that all guests respect their co-inhabitants' space. It is quite common for none of us to see each other the whole of the stay
