A charming and truly authentic miner's cottage, Trewins was built around the 1860's after the land was first sold by the Government, and has been both permanent and holiday rental accommodation for over 150 years. Step into the cottage and step back in time. With very little change to the footprint, the cottage has maintained its originality for the most part, offering a rustic and simple stay for guests wanting to experience a bygone era.
The kitchen is basic and the bathroom (shower, toilet and vanity) is tiny and compact, with some modern necessities sitting comfortably alongside old fashioned charm. The living room is warmed by the open fire (there are also heaters) and the bedrooms offer a queen and a double bed in a rustic and cosy setting.
The garden is wild and gorgeous, the half acre is smothered in wild flowers, and the cottage sits tucked amongst the trees and bushes whispering passionately, "I've been here a very long time!" Bring the dog, watch the trotters practicing their steps in the next door paddock, observe the wildlife and birds, and as the sun goes down, chill out and unwind.
A complimentary breakfast starter is provided to guests who have booked 2 nights or more. We also supply tea, coffee, milk and sugar to all guests. All linen and soap is provided (bedroom, bathroom and kitchen). Wood and kindling are provided. All you need to bring are your personal belongings, food and beverages.
