Gladville was built in 1873 and is named after its first owner Gladys. She and her family played an important role in establishing and maintaining the now iconic Wombat Hill gardens located nearby.
The property remained in Gladys’s family for around a century and has since only had 2 other owners. The first was a specialist in Lead Lighting and
Gladville has been bequeathed this gift. He sold Gladville to his family GP – and his pupil of lead lighting - in 1998.
The current owner has set about restoring Gladville to her former glory while also incorporating some modern conveniences. In addition to lead lighting, the current owner is passionate about French polishing and has restored the majority of furniture you see in Gladville.
