THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Just an hour's drive from Melbourne, Kyneton is a gorgeous country town. The 1850s Gold Rush left it with a legacy of lovely bluestone buildings but these days, a different kind of boom is drawing food lovers from across the country. Flagship restaurants such as Source Dining and Mr Carsisi have launched a culinary renaissance that now encompasses artisan bakers and provedores. Throw in a quirky selection of shops and galleries, and the rows of heritage buildings along Piper Street are now amongst the most exciting to visit in Victoria.
GETTING AROUND: Kyneton is approximately 85kms from Melbourne, along the Calder Fwy. Alternatively, we have a reliable train service, courtesy of V line.
