Welcome to the Historic Linton Post Office recently renovated as Linton’s premier short stay accommodation.

This beautiful character filled building was built in 1880. Situated in the centre of Linton town about 25 mins west of Ballarat. It is a fantastic comfortable house located a picturesque sleepy goldfield town. A great alternative to Ballarat.

We provide self-serve breakfast for the first morning of your stay.

Dogs are welcome but must be kept outside at all times.

The Space

There are three good sized bedrooms with a queen size bed in two of these and bunk beds one of these beds is a double in the third bedroom - sleeps 7 in total. Apart from a spacious living room there is a kitchen with dining room area. There is also a pleasant outdoor sitting space out the back with a charcoal kettle bbq available.

The kitchen is fully appointed for self-catering.

Linen and towels supplied, TV with DVD, selection of DVDs, books, BBQ, gas oven and stove, microwave, washing machine, high chair, board games, hair dryer, open fireplace and wood heater.

The Location

Linton is nestled on the edge of the Linton State Forest about 30 minutes west of Ballarat. The Ballarat-Skipton rail trail runs through the middle of town. This is an historic gold rush era town established 1855. It is a great place to come and relax from the hustle and bustle of city life. Or if you want a bit more action it is well located for bushwalking, mountain bike riding bikes can be hired from the local cafe, bird watching Clarksdale Bird Sanctuary is only 5 min drive, prospecting for gold, horse riding, running or just a quiet walking tour of the historic buildings of the town.

Linton is also a good base to explore the Western Districts with Ballarat, Creswick, Clunes, Beaufort, and Berringa within easy reach. Port Campbell and the Great Ocean Rd is only 90 minutes away and Halls Gap, in the heart of the Grampians, just over 90 minutes drive.

The town has a great cafe serving breakfast and lunches, a fine historic pub that provides dinner each Friday and Saturday night 6-8pm and pizzas Tuesday to Sunday 6-8pm. The Linton takeaway offers a wide range of fast food 7 days/week opens early to 730pm .
