Fully self-contained kitchen. 4 x burner cooktop, fridge, microwave, pots pans and all other cooking utensils. NOTE: no oven.

Wood fired heater. NOTE. Wood and kindling supplied for first night only.
More wood and kindling available for purchase at the property or bring your own, . Suggest you also bring fire starters if you not familiar with lighting log fires.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING
We suggest you do your shopping prior to arrival.
The nearest supermarket or restaurant is approximately 15 minutes away by car.
Bring your own selection of DVD's , Ipod music and reading material.
Don't forget your camera! Binoculars to watch the birdlife.
Bring warm clothing (temperature is cooler in the mountains and in winter it sometimes snows up here.)
Strong walking shoes/boots, there are some great walks from the property.

Visit several of the local wineries
Picnic ay historic hanging rock.
Visit a local farmers market and buy organic.
Play a round of golf at Gisborne,Woodend or Trentham courses.
Visit one or two of the beautiful Macedon open gardens.
Simply relax on your cabin deck and take in the sensational views and the birdlife that abounds.
Property is steep and not recommended for those who need a walking aid

Your Cherokee retreat is situated at 880 meters on the side of a mountain right in the heart of the Macedon Ranges, one of the most beautiful parts of Victoria.
WHAT TO DO WHILST YOU ARE HERE:
Take a bush walk through the Macedon State forest which surrounds your retreat
Visit the local boutique wineries.
Visit historic Hanging Rock - 10 minutes by car
Buy fresh produce at one of the local farmers markets. ( One every Saturday)
Play a round of golf at one of the local courses.
Visit one of the many open gardens on Mt Macedon
Bring your mountain bike for some serious riding.
EAGLES NEST- a place to chill out.
Read a book, listen to some music or luxuriate in the two-person spa.
Snuggle up under the luxurious doona in your king size bed.
Sip a fine wine and take in the panoramic views of the Melbourne skyline, Port Phillip Bay and the You Yang's from your private deck.
Take photos: Wallabies, echidnas, koalas and wombats inhabit the area surrounding your retreat.
Wake in the morning to the sound of kookaburras, honeyeaters, crimson rosellas black cockatoos and the tiniest of finches heralding in the dawn.

Cherokee Mountain Retreat is a purpose built weekend getaway set within the 25 acres of the property known as "Craigielea".
The original homestead of "Craigielea" was built in 1875 and is one of most secluded properties in the Macedon Ranges.
One of the original Cobb and Co tracks borders the side of the property, old hitching rails can still be seen and the stone horse trough exists to the day.
At an altitude of 880 metres the cabins have spectacular views of Melbourne, Port Phillip Bay and the You Yangs.
The property backs on to State Forest making it a perfect place for wildlife.
Wombat, Koala, Echidna, Wallaby and Kangaroo are regular visitors along with parrot, cockatoo, kookaburra and huge variety of finch.
If you are lucky the magnificent Wedge Tail Eagle will soar for you.
.CHEROKEE MOUNTAIN RETREAT- Booking Policy
A deposit of 50% is required to secure the booking.
Payment of the rental deposit constitutes the clients acceptance of the following Terms and Conditions as follows:
Balance of the rental amount must be received in full 10-14 days prior to occupancy unless alternative agreement is made between the owner and guest.
If full payment is not received within the time allotted above, the owner has the right to cancel the booking and attempt to re let the property.
In such a situation, the guest will be notified by email and phone message.
Providing the property is successfully re-let, the initial guests deposit will be refunded less $50 administration fee.
CHEROKEE MOUNTAIN RETREAT- Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel your booking we require 14 days notice in advance of the date you were due to arrive. The following conditions apply:
All cancellations must be received in writing (email or text) and must subsequently have been confirmed by us as having been received.
1. You may wish to re schedule your stay for an alternative weekend.
2. If we are able to let the retreat to another guest for the dates you cancelled.
A refund will apply less $30.00 administration costs.
LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS
(Constitutes any time less than 8 x days prior to check in) are not refundable.
We will always do our best to find another guest to fill your spot and if we are able to do so in this case we will issue you a voucher less $50 administration fee for you to use another time.
NOTE IMPORTANT EXCEPTIONS
We have a non-refundable policy for bookings made and paid in advance for the following dates and long weekends as listed:
Queens Birthday, Easter, Labor Day, Anzac Day, Australia Day, Melbourne Cup, Christmas and New Year Period: (December 20th through to January16th)
Special Events Weekends: example:( Rolling Stones concert at hanging rock)
