This is our family home that we rent out when we are away. We love the house and the location and hope that you will too.
The large living area at the back of the house gets plenty of light and looks out onto a lovely garden. The comfortable sitting area has a large TV 55 inches and cable TV Foxtel is connected including sport.
There is a nice kitchen with stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher of course and granite benchtops and splash backs. You can eat out of doors there is a BBQ and outside seating available, or indoors at the smaller breakfast table or at the larger table in the dining room.
The very large master bedroom has its own spa ensuite and has a private balcony. It has period features, a comfortable queen size bed. The second bedroom downstairs also has period features and plenty of character and a queen size bed. The third bedroom, which is upstairs, has 2 single beds which can be put together to be a king size bed if required. Each bedroom is carpeted and has a desk.
The family bathroom is downstairs and has a shower over the bath and also houses the washing machine, dryer and laundry sink in a convenient cupboard. There is also a fold down clothesline in a corner in the garden.
The downstairs hall and sitting room have Baltic pine floor boards, and the living area and kitchen have lovely Tasmanian myrtle polished floors.
We have hydronic central heating and in the master bedroom we have a split system reverse cycle air conditioning. There is also a portable evaporative cooler for the upstairs twin bedroom. The house has good insulation and we find that we don’t need any additional cooling downstairs, even on very hot days.
Of course Wi-Fi is available. This home is ideally suited for a longer term stay. If you are looking for an extended stay please get in touch to discuss reduced rates.
The back garden is shared with our son Daniel and his cute, friendly, little dog who lives in the studio apartment upstairs. They enter and exit via the external stairs and the back gate. We store our personal items in the garage and in the Walk-In-Robe off the master bedroom so you will not have access to those areas. There are also a couple of cupboards that we keep locked for use by the cleaners.
Our house is on a lovely, tree lined street. North Fitzroy is a very convenient location being very close to the city and also having a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We are only 2 minutes’ walk from North Fitzroy Village on St Georges Rd. There is a great supermarket “Piedimonte’s” which has a bottle shop and an excellent deli, as well as a chemist, “Wild Things” a natural food store, a post office, and a range of cafes and restaurants, even a gym and a library. There are plenty of pubs within easy walking distance. Brunswick Street restaurants are also only a short walk away with Smith Street, Rathdowne St and Lygon Street on our doorstep. We’ll leave you a list of some of our favourite cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is something for everyone here.
We are also only 2 minutes’ walk from lovely Edinburgh Gardens and trams taking you into the city. This is a safe area and we often walk around even late at night. If you enjoy cycling or walking the Capital City Trail passes at the end of our street. You can follow it to the Zoo, to Abbotsford Children’s Farm or Convent, or do the full circle of about 30km which goes through Docklands and the city and follows along the Yarra River for part of the way. You can easily hire a bike locally. This is a great location for your stay in Melbourne.
