Architecturally renovated in 2010 my 2-3 bedroom city home sympathetically introduces the new world to the old.
Large, light and airy The Gert ocupies a whole floor in the prominent Gertrude Street building of which it forms a part. The property is safe and secure and has a separate remote security entrance off Fitzroy Street.
The Gert. comprises an entry hall, study area and large front reception rooms. These rooms can be closed off to create a private space from the rear of the property by a single door if required. I use this for professional consulting occassionally but it generally represents a substantial living space with view out across the street and to the city skyline. The rear of the property comprises a further sitting room which has a good quality sofa bed in it. There are 2 further bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, laundry and sunny enclosed verandah.
The Gert. benefits from good natural light and ventilation with windows on 4 sides of the building. Internally I have placed considered items of furniture including Mark Tuckey tables, leather settees and occassional antique pieces on polished boards amidst whitewashed walls. The bedding configuration includes - QB, DB and Fold out DB in the sitting room.
When not being let I use the property myself when in town and hence it has everything that you could reasonably expect of a comfortable residence.
The property has in recent times been the subject of enquiry for use by the television series "Off Spring" and is within the heart of the district where the series is filmed.
Full cooking facilities, including staples can be found at the property, and you are welcome to use them on a replace when empty basis.
Several blocks from the CBD, the Gert. is situated in an area described as Melbourne's "Golden Triangle" for dining, including Cutler & Co.,The Everleigh, Anada, Ricky & Pinky, Sonido, Lladro, , Gertrude Street Enoteca and many more.
Gertrude Street has gained national recognition for eclectic arts and cultural flavour, and I encourage you to google the street as a place of interest. Once you become familiar with this area, you will keep coming back.
