We are open to longer term bookings, and provide a discount on the nightly rate for weekly and monthly stays. It is 3 nights minimum booking and we take bookings up to 6 weeks in advance.
It's particularly suitable for a family relocating and needing accommodation for a few weeks/months, or executives travelling to Melbourne for work from interstate or overseas.
Close to everything Fitzroy has to offer, but in a private and quiet cul-de-sac, Central Melbourne Oasis is a converted warehouse, over 3 luxurious levels, offering lots of room and privacy for everyone. It includes a parents' retreat, beautiful roof garden (spa, daybed, covered outdoor dining) and spacious separate living areas.
The location is fantastic - close to the city, schools, cafes, and a 2 minute walk to Fitzroy's amenities (cafes, restaurants, galleries, IMAX, Melbourne Museum, Fitzroy pool and shops, including a Coles, 1 minute away) and with easy public transport, yet, being in a quiet no through lane it is out of the hustle and bustle.
The whole house is very comfortable, and it comes with cleaning included (see below for details). Lounge in the spa, or read in the daybed in your private, quiet roof garden, surrounded by mature native and fruits trees. Relax in the bath, or on the lounge streaming movies, after a good day's shopping. Fall into bed after a delicious meal round the corner.
We are open to longer term bookings, and provide a substantial discount on the nightly rate for longer term bookings. It would particularly suit a family relocating and needing accommodation for a few weeks/months, or executives travelling to Melbourne for work.
It comes fully equipped with all the comforts you could wish for: spa, massage chair, hydronic (divine!) central heating, entertainment systems, wifi, built-in filtered drinking water ... you name it. It's the perfect place for a family of 4, or for 4-5 adults, because everyone has their own space, and it is fully furnished with everything you need to feel perfectly at home.
Layout and features:
Upstairs provides a large parents' retreat, with a walk in dressing room and en-suite bathroom, with large doors out onto a well-established roof garden with total privacy. (There is also a separate entrance to the roof garden). From the garden there are views to the city skyline on one side and the Dandenong Ranges on the other. Sunbake in complete privacy, lounge around on the daybed, or eat breakfast, lunch or dinner under the stars (with a roof that closes automatically in the rain). ... and the best news: the garden has an automated irrigation system and is regularly maintained, so you can simply enjoy it!
The middle floor has a large open plan living area with a chef's kitchen, large light-filled windows, a cosy fireplace and a grand piano. On this floor there's also a study, 2 bedrooms (one with a 4 poster bed, the other with a double bed), a large bathroom with a bath, 2 loos and a laundry.
The bottom floor provides a stunning architect-designed renovation, including a separate second living area with a large TV and very comfy oversized couch.
All in all this is a unique and rare property. We designed it as our family home, sparing no expense or. (We are renting out while are taking a long sabbatical in the Byron Bay area). Obviously it is important that you are willing to treat the space with respect and care.
It is the perfect base from which to explore - and/or settle into - the best that Melbourne has to offer, being five minutes from Smith, Brunswick and Gertrude streets. Some local amenities include the IMAX and Museum (10 minutes walk), the city is 10 minutes by tram or bike. We're near all the great cafes and restaurants, Fitzroy pool, and local highlights include Messina icecream and a Coles, open to midnight, 2 minutes walk down the road!). There are many trams within a few minutes walk, and it's close to many private schools, to Victoria street and to the Eastern freeway.
All in all, you will believe you are in heaven!
Entry is keyless and secure, based on code to your phone or keypad option.
Usually the check in time is 3pm and check out is 11am, unless by special arrangement.
We are available by phone to answer any question you have and to provide any help or advice you need to make your stay as comfortable and seamless as possible. We also have a local host in Melbourne who can provide any extra help or advice if needed, and is a back-up if we are not available.
A weekly clean is included in the rental for stays of 7 days or more and covers vacuuming / mopping and a change of linen.
Gloria and John have been with the family for many years. They take care of the garden and clean the house. Please note that cleaning service is not negotiable, as both the house and garden require regular upkeep and maintenance. They are respectful of your privacy and unobtrusive.
What is included in the cleaning: Gloria and John clean the whole house, and will remake your beds and supply fresh linens and towels.
What is not included: dish washing, or your laundry. However they are usually happy to do additional cleaning for you if you'd like which you can negotiate and pay for directly. If you would like washing and ironing and additional cleaning you can negotiate this directly with Gloria and John at the rate of $40 an hour. (The specified cleaning fee, included in the Stayz rate is for an exit clean.)
Vibrant Fitzroy has pretty much everything you might want and the apartment is central to it all.
Nestled in a quiet and private cul de sac between Brunswick, Smith and Gertrude streets, you couldn't ask for more.
There are great shops, ranging from the designer outlets of Gertrude and Brunswick st (Crumpler, Issey Miyake, Yamamoto, Gorman ... (URL HIDDEN) to the discount warehouses on Smith (Adidas, Kathmandu, Bonds, you name it).
Fitzroy pool (famous for it's Aqua Profunda signage) is only a short walk, as are the cinemas of the city and Carlton, IMAX and many of Melbourne's best cafes and restaurants (in an Age newspaper poll of Melbourne's top chefs, 9/10 listed the Smith/Gertrude st as their favorite dining precinct).
It's an easy walk (or tram) to the city, and only 2 mins from all the attractions of Brunswick, Smith and Gertrude streets.
It's 5 minutes walk to the Melbourne Musuem, IMAX, and the old Exhibition Centre.
... plus there are about 5 major different tram lines within a few minutes walk.
... and it's very easy to get from here to the Eastern Freeway (for the Yarra Valley, Dandenong Ranges, Mornington Peninsula etc).
As this is our home, we need tenants that treat the place with care and respect.
It is definitely not a party house.
While of course usual wear and tear are to be expected, as the furnishings and contents of the house are expensive so please look after everything.
