Description

Just an hour from Melbourne’s CBD and nestled in the hills above the famous Yarra Valley is this stunning, designer renovated, eco-friendly home. With crisp white walls, lime-washed floors, retro features, a massive chef`'s kitchen, and breathtaking views, it's a gorgeous place to relax and unwind.

And kids stay free So even if you are a family of 8 - you only pay the base rate.

The house features three enormous, light-filled bedrooms all with BIRs.The master suite includes a king bed, a walk-in robe with laundry chute, and an ensuite with stunning views. The second light-filled bedroom features a queen bed and leander cot. The third large bedroom features a separate single bed plus a bunk bed with a single on top and double underneath. There is also a vintage fold-out couch in the sleeping zone of the house that comfortably accomodates one adult or two children. And a single day bed in the toy/games space. A re-conditioned, 100 year old claw foot bath takes pride of place in the enormous vintage-style bathroom.

A 3.7 metre long gleaming white state-of-the-art bench-top, a top of the line European 6 burner stove. and a walk-in larder are highlights of the chef’s kitchen. The spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area feature high ceilings, a wood burning heater, double glazing, and roof, wall and floor insulation ensuring you’re warm and cozy even when it snows.

The established garden features plenty of herbs, mature fruit trees and bursts into colour every spring. And the many chestnut trees make autumn spectacular

Sitting at the end of a quiet country lane, the house capitalises on the breathtaking views across neighbouring farmland to Mt St Leonards. June/July is lambing season in Kinglake, and the neighbouring property usually welcomes over 200 newborn lambs. Sit by the fire and enjoy spectacular moon rises. Watch the hot air balloons appear through the dawn mist framed perfectly by the enormous double-glazed windows. In summer, open the huge screened, bi-fold doors to capture the cooling southerly breezes. Or hang out on the vast, wrap-around decks there's a BBQ and outdoor settings.

LINEN: To try and keep costs down we don't normally supply linen. However, if you're coming from out of town, or if it's inconvenient for you to bring your own, we can supply all linen for a small extra charge from $40 per stay depending on the number in your party.

Environmentally Friendly

Our home reflects our passion for both the natural environment and for intelligent, beautiful design. It features solar power, rainwater tanks, a septic system, green design features including a mudroom airlock and living, green wall, and zero VOC finishes. Our environmental care also extends to the cleaning products we use. And our home is filled with ‘retro’ and pre-loved fixtures and furnishings to further minimise our impact on the planet.

Family/kid Friendly

We are a family with young children so we understand kid-friendly accommodation. Our space includes: a gorgeous leander cot and all bedding; change table; high chair; block-out blinds in all bedrooms, double-glazing, screens and heaters in all bedrooms; kiddy toilet seats available; huge bath; plenty of toys; enclosed deck space; amazing 'magic farawy tree' cubby house; trampoline; heaps of lambs, goats, alpacas and horses all within walking distance. Kids stay for free.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very relaxing and comfortable property! We were a group of friends wanting to get away for a long due short break. It was only within 1 hr 35mins from Mbourne CBD. The property was well appointed with comfortable and pleasant bedding arrangements and well maintained house. The back yard and surrounding views were very relaxing. A sheep farm field and the backyard with trees and small forest area. There was a fire place and a large kitchen, which we used to cook all 3 meals including a roast! Everything was great! If I had to pick on one thing it would be another large shower to appointed at some stage, but that's only a suggestion for future. Bron was a loverly host, attentive and accurate, we will surely come again sometime! Thank you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous place in a lovely part of Vic The White House is a fabulous home to stay in, stylish, welcoming and very well appointed but not fussy or too posh. Gorgeous kitchen with knives that work (how rare is that in a holiday home!) and all the gadgets and pots and pans you could ever need to cook up a feast for hungry mouths after a day of adventure. Divine and entrancing view from the main room and a fabulous fireplace that kept us all toasty. Lovely toys and books inside, plenty of space for kids in and out, great fruit trees and a trampoline outside and short easy walks for little legs to visit local horses and sheep. We had a fabulous & relaxing weekend (really really comfy beds too) and we all came back to the big smoke refreshed and with hearts and lungs full of delicious country air. Highly recommended. We'll definitely go back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful retreat from the city! Thank you Bron for sharing your lovely house with us! It is so comfortable and our kids were in heaven with plenty of toys, books and puzzles to play with, as well as a "jungle" for a back yard. We loved the views and the serenity and it was a perfect base for us to come back to after some lovely walks in the Kinglake area which seems to be recovering well after the terrible fires. Kinglake has one of the best playgrounds we have every seen. Overall we would highly recommend this property for a perfect escape from the city!
