Only 1 hour from the CBD, but a million miles from the hectic daily grind. 15 mins to the famous Yarra Valley wineries. Cool and breezy in summer due to it’s stone and mudbrick construction. Deceptively large, this handcrafted studio space features high ceilings, a sparkling white floor [bring your slippers], a wood burning fireplace wood supplied with a very large, down-filled couch. It also features a seperate vintage bathroom with bath, spacious kitchen with fridge, gas stove with oven, on-tap filtered water, pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, teapot, coffee plunger, toaster, kettle, and a variety of glassware [including some vintage crystal pieces]. There is also a vintage/upcycled dining table for 4. And very good mobile reception.
LONG SLEEP-INS: It's super peaceful at the Stone House making it perfect for sleep-ins and siestas. Please note: there is no seperate is a very large, spacious STUDIO HOUSE. The addition of 2 single beds presented as daybeds featuring comfortable, inner spring mattresses makes the space ideal for couples, a girls' weekend, or a small family. There is plenty of clean bedding, doonas and blankets available for long winter nights by the fire.
IMPORTANT: This website doesn't allow us to include a kids stay free option. So the base price of the house includes 2 adults and all kids under 18. NOTE: If you are a group of adults please note that there is an additional nightly charge of $25 per person after the first 2 adults. :
The house has a key safe located on the front porch. Once you've booked, we will provide the code to the key safe.
The Stone House has it's own entrance into the property, private backyard, off-street parking, and plenty of private space to enjoy the views.

Although only an hour from the city, the natural environment and clean mountain air helps you feel a million miles away. Enjoy all that the Kinglake National Park, Yarra Valley and surrounding areas have to offer. And don't miss St Andrews Market [just 18 mins away] held every Saturday - organic fruit and veg, great food and coffee, live music, massages, clothing, pony rides, bric a brac and heaps more.

LINEN: To try and keep cleaning costs down we only supply linen for the Queen bed plus towels for 2 etc. If you plan to use more than the Queen bed and it's inconvenient for you to bring your own, we can supply all linen for a small extra charge [from $30 per stay depending on the number in your party/number of beds used].

NEED MORE ROOM?
We also have an another house on the property which can be booked through a seperate listing. The 'White House on the Hill' has it's own backyard, seperate driveway and parking. There is a fence/screening separating the 2 houses to ensure privacy. They are not located close together ensuing peace and quiet for all guests. If you have a large group, contact us for a price for the entire property.
Make sure that you bring your food with you if you want to make the most of retreating from the world There is no supermarket etc on the mountain, only a smallish IGA. Or if you don't feel like cooking , the Yarra Valley - with it's large number of wineries and restaurants - is only a 15-20 min drive away. We also have an amazing local chef on the mountain who can fully/partly cater your weekend including hampers/picnics. Her food is all organic, super fresh and tasty, and she's a whiz with different dietary requirements e.g. vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc. She also does takeaway curries every Friday night - pick-up is just a short drive from the Stone House.
