Transportation From/To Airport
1. Skybus, followed by taxi to the apartment
Skybus provides a 24/7 shuttle that runs to and from Southern Cross Train Station. Skybus is placed, and allows pick-ups at two locations at Melbourne Airport - at Qantas/Jetstar domestic terminal T1 and Virgin Australia terminal T3.
Shuttles depart every 10 minutes, except between 1.00AM and 4.00AM when they depart every half hour.
The trip from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station will take around 20-30 minutes.
The quickest way to get from the airport to the apartment is by taxi. Hail a taxi at designated taxi ranks at the airport, located on the ground floor outside Terminal 1 and between Terminal 2 and 3.
A one way taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes door-to-door.
3. Car Hire
Consider hiring a car if you want to be able to travel more independently to the suburban areas and outskirts of Melbourne. Choose from a range of car rental operators located at the airport. Driving routes to the city is straightforward with plenty of signage and turn off signposted.
Do note that parking in Melbourne city can be costly, so refrain from hiring a car if you're thinking of just traveling within the city centre - instead take advantage of Melbourne's free trams.
