North Melbourne joins the CBD and is only a short walk away. It is one of Melbourne's first communities and is full of quaint period charm. It's main Street, Errol Street, has a real "village feel" and gives you the opportunity to feel part of a small community whilst being almost in the CBD. Errol Street carries all major banks, 2 supermarkets, a 7-11 convenience store, a large variety of cafes and restaurants, a doctor, dentist, physio, wine merchant, bakery, a library, post office, hotels, men's and women's hairdressers, TAB, giftwares ... and even an old-time shoe and leather repair merchant in a period store
It is well serviced by trams conveniently located at the next intersection that offer a short ride to the city centre and very close to the free tram zone ... with connecting services all over Melbourne via train and tram.
