Port Melbourne is a sunny bayside suburb with gleaming modern architecture; you can find restored workers cottages and grand old pubs paying homage to the bean and barley in typical Melbourne style.
Check out Beacon Cove and Station Pier as you walk the palm-lined path that hugs the Port Melbourne foreshore. Walk past architect-designed houses apartments overlooking Port Phillip Bay. Relax in Beach Street's cafes, dress up for beachfront drinks, or dip your toes in the water.
Plant yourself at great restaurants such as 3 Station Pier or Waterfront for a spot of people-watching as the Spirit of Tasmania ferry arrives, and the international cruise ships dock.
Back in Bay Street, step back from the beach to scout quality coffees at Balderdash and My Sister Says and find best French provisions at Noisette.
Shop up a storm at Bay Street's swanky boutiques and absorb a spot of culture at MARS Gallery.
The Graham, The Local and the Railway Club Hotel will set you up with frothy beers (boutique, naturally) and top-notch pub grub, while Rose Bar & Diner and Dalmatino provide alternative dining options.
Love a market? There are plenty nearby! Have a look in the Pics - 7 of them within a 15 minute drive. Full list is in the house manual.
