Jam Jerrup Sunset is the perfect place for a quiet seaside break overlooking beautiful Westernport Bay onto French Island. It is a modern 2 bedroom apartment with a terrace and fenced yard facing directly over the bay. It is on the whole ground floor of a 2 storey house where only the owner lives upstairs with a separate entrance and stairs.
It has all the facilities you would require for a family holiday and chickens, ducks and the farmer's cows out the back for the kids to look at enjoy and feed if they wish. A great spot to unwind with a drink or bbq while catching one of our amazing sunsets.
Jam Jerrup is a small village of 40 houses and has no shops, pubs or cafes. It is perfect if you want to get away from it all while being only an hours drive from Melbourne CBD. There are beautiful walks through the bush, along the cliff path, and the sandy beach which is also suitable for sunbathing, fishing and paddling when the tide is in. It is a perfect safe spot to bring young children and pets are welcome.
Phillip Island with all its tourist attractions is only 25 minutes drive 45 minutes to The Penguins as well as local attractions like Caldermeade Farm 15 mins where children can see cows milked or Maru Koala Park 15 mins where you can see Australian animals up close and personal or play a round of mini golf at the famous Grantville Pirate Mini Golf Course which even has its own Pirate Festival in April. There is a small group of award winning wineries, including The Gurdies Winery, only 15 minutes drive away.
The space consists of 2 bedrooms with the main bedroom opening directly onto the terrace at the front with sea and sunset views from bed. There is a second bedroom with 2 large bunk beds. A private bathroom with towels and washing products provided and a lounge/dining area overlooking the terrace with sea views. The kitchenette has a full sized fridge and microwave, bench top oven, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, electric frying pan, double electric hob, pots, pans, crockery etc. Spices and sauces are provided as well as milk, spreads, cereal, teas and coffee including Nespresso pods. Bread for toast can be provided for free if requested beforehand.
There is a large eclectic dvd collection as well as games and books for a rainy day or fun family evening. The tv has Apple and Chromecast connectors to watch your own videos. The wifi is NBN about 2MBps enough for HD streaming from our Netflix account. Also a large selection of tourist broucheres are provided for Bass Coast and Phillip Island.
Note: The apartment shares a driveway with the owner who also uses the front yard to exercise his friendly old border collie Jade for 15 minutes in the afternoon. There is a very friendly cat on the premises who will come in and say hello if the door is left open. Her name is Minoo. If you are allergic to cats and dogs then this probably is not the place for you. The back yard is private but guests can enter at their own risk. All small children must be accompanied and dogs only on leash. There are 4 chickens and 2 ducks living there. If the girls are feeling in the mood they may have left you some eggs on arrival. There is a green bin next to the back door with chicken and duck food in it.
No loud music or tv or talking outside after 11pm. Smoking outside is okay but do not stand or sit in open doorways while doing it. There is a sand bucket on the terrace for disposing of stubs. Please clean it when you leave.
Please leave used towels, bed sheets, pillowcases, doona covers and tea towels in the bathtub when leaving. Please wash, dry and return any crockery, pots, cutlery etc. If you have moved any furniture please return it to its original position.
There are no shops or cafes in Jam Jerrup. The nearest small supermarket is in Lang lang about 10 minutes drive away where there is also an excellent takeaway pizzas, burgers, fish&chips and pub bistro at The Palace. There is a large Woolies at Koo Wee Rup on the way down from Melbourne which is open until 10pm. As this is the country many places close Saturday afternoon, early in the evening or don't open on Sundays so best to be prepared. The nearest 24/7 chemist is 40km away
