Gippsland Food Forest's cosy Walnut cottage is a authentic, 1890s cottage nestled among 500 organic avocado, fruit and nut trees in the lush foothills of the Strzelecki Ranges. Only 1.4 hours from Melbourne, it is only minutes to the large rural town of Leongatha with a cinema complex, 9 cafes, hotels, restaurants and all amenities.
The secluded cottage is fully restored and refurbished with charming period furnishings & fittings, a lovely north-facing deck, and is surrounded by a rose garden and arbour with views over the property. Guests are free to wander among the spring-fed dams & orchards, and sample produce in season.
The cottage is accessed by it's own drive, and has a carport with direct undercover access to the cottage, fully-stocked kitchen with large pantry, oven and full-sized fridge, laundry, quality linen, hair drier, iron, reverse-cycle heating & cooling, soap, shampoo and conditioner, polished boards, a wood fire & firewood, fly screens on all external windows & doors. A small cheese platter & continental breakfast is supplied on the first night, together with home-made jams & chutneys & organic produce in season.
