About Venus Bay...
Venus Bay is a small coastal township, located in vegetated sand dunes that back onto the Bass Strait coastline. Close to the township, there is a superb surf beach that is patrolled by surf lifesavers in the summer months, as well as the state's longest sand spit at Anderson Inlet, where you can find safe, sheltered beaches ideal for families and swimming. The coastline from Venus Bay to Cape Liptrap offers the chance to see an old lighthouse and native Australian plants and wildlife.
There are 5 access points to the surf beach, with the Regatta on the Bay located within walking distance of Beach Access No.5. The beach offers excellent surfing, windsurfing and fishing.
Wildlife is in abundance, with Kangaroos grazing at the end of the street, echidnas, wombats and plenty of birdlife to keep the nature lovers amused.
A bicycle track exists between Venus Bay and Tarwin Lower along the Tarwin River. The Tarwin River itself is a popular fishing spot.
The Regatta on the Bay is also located nearby to the boatramp allowing access to Andersons Inlet.
The town of Venus Bay is small and contains a General Store, Fish & Chip Shop, Fishing/Surf shop, a Cafe, 3 Real Estate Agents and a Pizza shop.
A courtesy bus operates during the summer months to the Tarwin Lower pub.
Venus Bay is 1hr from Wilsons Promontory and Phillip Island.
