Located in a tranquil pocket of Venus Bay and a short walk to patrolled beach No 1 with views out onto the sand dunes, this cottage is perfect for a summer escape or a winter break in front of the fire for those who want a simple holiday in an old style beach cottage.
This is house is freshly painted and furnished with a retro feel and well appointed with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It has three bedrooms- one with a queen size bed, one with a double bed and one with a set of single bunk beds with an extra trundle underneath.
There is an open plan living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen, complete with tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil and herbs and spices for your use. There is also a BBQ and outdoor dining setting for guests to enjoy.
Enjoy a sunny brunch on a back deck sheltered by ti-trees, or enjoy a cup of tea in the hammock as you watch the honeyeaters flit in and out of the banksia trees. Relax on the front verandah with a good book or watch the sun go down.
This house is well set up for families with a portacot, three wheeled pram and high chair all available, as well as kids' toys, books, games and DVDs. There is a kids' swing in the fenced grassy yard, a trampoline old style without a net so please supervise your kids. Please enjoy it but we do need to say that it is used at guests' own risk, a bath in the bathroom and a washing machine for your use.
A wood heater in the lounge room is perfect for when the nights are cold and all the bedrooms are fitted with panel heaters. There is also a split system heater/cooler and overheard fans in the living area, and portable fans for the bedrooms in the summer months.
The house comes with a LCD screen TV, DVD player, stereo and i-Pod dock as well as an array of games, books and magazines for you to enjoy.
All this is within an easy stroll to the beach and the Venus Bay shops or a short drive or bike ride to the walking trails, bike tracks and fishing spots of Anderson Inlet.
NB to keep the price of our cottage low we do ask guests bring their own sheets, pillowcases and towels doonas, pillows and blankets are provided.

Located about two hours from Melbourne and perfectly situated between Wilsons Prom and Phillip Island, Venus Bay is the perfect spot to base yourself if you want to explore the South Gippsland coast.
With a wide expanse of beach within walking distance as well as a general store, takeaway restaurants and cafes all nearby, it is also the perfect place to come if you don't want to do much at all
Surrounded by Cape Liptrap Coastal Park, Venus Bay has five surf beaches, including the number 1 beach which is patrolled by life savers in the summer months. It also has Anderson Inlet where you can find sheltered water for swimming or tranquil spots to drop in a fishing line.
There are numerous walks in Venus Bay, including the beautiful Point Smythe Nature Trail where you are almost guaranteed to see kangaroos. A short drive away is the Cape Liptrap lighthouse, the historic lime kilns and sheltered bays of Walkerville, and the abundant bird life of the Bald Hill Wetlands.
