Tranquil garden setting, 5 minute walk to beautiful picturesque beaches and historic lime kilns.
We fell in love with Walkerville South many years ago due to its idyllic secluded beaches, its unique history and its fabulous views of Wilson's Promontory. Anyone familiar with Walkerville South will testify that it is one of the jewels of the Victorian coastline; quiet, out of the way, with spectacular scenery.
Over 15 years we have devoted many holidays to transforming the Nissan Hut from its origin as a WW2 era army barracks into a comfortable cottage with its own unique character and ambience. Its curved roof, walls and ceiling make it an unusual building. We've had fun renovating it in a way that acknowledges its humble origins, while at the same time offering the comforts of modern living. It is set on a private and sheltered 3/4 acre block which, along with our 7 neighbours, forms the heart of the little Walkerville South community. We're as close as you can get to the Walkerville South beaches and historic lime kilns in a holiday rental.
The house sleeps up to 6, with 1 queen bed, 2 single beds and 1 queen fold out couch. The bathroom, an eclectic combination of modern fittings and rustic materials, opens onto a Balinese style private courtyard. You'll enjoy the shower. The kitchen is well equipped, and looks out onto a lovely native garden complete with an abundance of native birds and our own resident wombat (which persistently does its own renovations). The living area is open plan with baltic pine flooring and it opens onto our large private yard. You may notice that our resident echidna is also renovating under the shed.
