Located on 6 acres, with stunning views across the Strzelecki Ranges and across to the Prom.

Set in the green rolling hills of South Gippsland. There is abundant bird life to spot, Kookaburras, Black Cockatoos, Tawny Frogmouths and Wedge Tail Eagles.

At night, turn the lights out and enjoy the amazing array of stars in the sky, unaffected by town lights, while toasting a marshmellow on an open fire fire restrictions permitting.

Have fun on a wombat spotting expedition, hint there's one underneath the house. Count the different frog calls as you go for walks.

Enjoy trips to Agnes falls, Wilsons Prom, Port Welshpool, McLoughlins beach, Port Albert, Foster market, Fish Creek, Toora or surf beaches at Sandy Point/Warratah Bay.

Enjoy a coffee with home made German deserts at the cafe in Toora, or a drive to Port Welshpool and walking along the jetty.

There is plenty to do, or just sit and enjoy the country peace and quiet.

We love it

The Cottage

Three bedroom, one with King size latex mattress, one Queen sized latex topped mattress and bunk room sleeps up to 4 children. Note 8 is a tight squeeze, but 6 is comfortable.

Cosy living room, with log burner and dining table with picture windows.

Simple cosy kitchen, bathroom, separate toilet and laundry.

Local Area

There are many interesting places to visit in the local area depending on your interests.

Agnes falls is the highest waterfall in Victoria spanning 59 meters.

Toora is the closest local town, which has a fabulous outdoor heated pool complex, cafe's, antique shops, supermarket, hotel, children's playground, skate park and access to the rail trail which runs from Leongatha Also has the Heritage Pear Orchard with approximately 60 varieties of pear.

Foster is a lovely country town with supermarkets, cafes etc. It has a golf course and hosts a monthly Sunday market and a monthly farmer's market. A stroll through the community gardens are delightful. Hire bikes and ride the Rail Trail or the Mountain Bike track in Foster. Hire kayaks and go fishing at the Inlet or diving near the Prom.

Port Welshpool is a working fishing port with pier. Succulent locally caught fish can be enjoyed from the local fish and chip shop. There is a child friendly beach with views to the Prom makes for a great afternoon out.

Wilson's Prom - famous National Park with secluded beaches, coastal forests and native animals. There is an information centre where you can pick up all the information on local walks.

Walkerville - renown for it's rock formations it's such a magnificent beach.

Historic Port Albert - Victoria's first established port with plenty of maritime history, some lovely architecture and has a good food reputation.

McLoughlin's Beach- stroll along the boardwalk, cross the long foot bridge and walk to the wild stretch of the ninety mile beach. This is an amazing walk.

We often go to the lovely town of Yarram. You can take a picnic and drive to Tarra Bulga National Park with lush gullies, giant mountain ash and tree ferns.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Our recent experience to this property.... We have booked this property recently (8/03/17 to 11/03/17) with an anticipation that it will be great to have some relaxed time out. We have surprised when things come out one after another after we paid the whole amount. The address and the gate of the property is not clearly marked because there are two properties located side by side. So you have to spend 10 minutes before you really find out which one you have booked. Next thing is linen was not included and that did not mentioned by the owner so you have to take all off your linen including pillow cover bed sheet etc. After we move in the next day there is no water. Not hot not cold. The reason was the heater was too small and the tank some how not big enough. So if you thinking to have more than 4 min shower then forget it. There is no microwave and no television. All the furniture are very old and rusty and one of the door has multiple stain from some where. Anyway there is a toaster that does not work. There is no electricity fault but it is not working. There is limited supply of hot water and the reason I have already explained. The house is not clean enough but the owner expect you to clean everything including the toilet. The driveway is a mess. There is plant overgrowth from every direction and some of them causes scratch mark in my vehicle. There a dining table and some folding chair where hardy more than 2 people can sit because of limited room. I understand it is a remote area but I have been to area which is more remote than this and never seen anything like this. All of the furniture including bed ( kid's bed) looks like they are going to fall apart. Very cheap and stained door and other furniture. Most of all what ever they got hardly anything work. The washing machine stopped half way through even though the owner claims it works. It is meant to be self contained with full facilities but it has hardly any facilities. Probably one thing it has which entertain us that is outdoor fire thing where you can cook. But that probably in winter. So please take proper step to clarify above before your booking. Once you booked and paid there are hardly anything you can do. So good luck...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful break away! We absolutely loved our weekend at Sage Cottage, much needed quiet time with the family playing board games and looking around local area. Great communication with Lizzie via email, lovely lady!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cute cottage We had a weekend stay here, cute cottage if you are looking to get away from it all. Thought potential guests should be aware that the cottage is a 15min drive to the nearest town of Toora. Also the property boundaries were a bit unclear so we weren't sure where we could wander. It is real farmhouse living- quick showers otherwise you run out of hot water for the day, no microwave or television. Does have a great indoor fire, outdoor fire pit and the kids loved the little treehouse. Helpful host with quick email responses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We loved the peace and quite - and amazing views We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Sage Cottage. It's well hidden in the rolling hills above the Prom and we enjoyed the views to the Prom on one side and the forest on the other. The contact from Lizzie was great - she responded to our queries really quickly and was always superhelpful. We had fun playing the games in the house and exploring the local area but most of all we enjoyed walking round the forest and sitting out in the garden around the fire in the evenings. The only disappointment was that we didn't spot the wombat - but the cute cow kept us entertained.
