Enjoy a break at Ayrvale House or Phoenix House, self contained accommodation in delightful double storey town houses in Lake Gardens Ballarat. Perfect for executive stays or family holidays. Long and short term options are available.

Ayrvale is a 3 bedroom, two bathroom home with central heating and cooling, with a formal sitting room, a large open plan living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a fully functional laundry, private courtyard and double lock up garage.

Bedding configuration is 1 king size bed (or two single) 1 queen size bed and one double with a sofa bed that can be made available. Guest rooms are made up with crisp, white linen and thick, plush towels.

Phoenix House is also a centrally heated and cooled 3 bedroom, two bathroom home , with a formal sitting room, a large open plan living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a fully functional laundry, private courtyard and double lock up garage.

Bedding configuration is 2 queen size beds two single beds. Guest rooms are made up with crisp, white linen and thick, plush towels.

Ayrvale and Phoenix are 900 metres from Ballarat's Premier Recreational Facility, the Ballarat Aquatic Centre and the Prince of Wales Park

Lake Gardens is serviced by a bus service making travel all around Ballarat easy

Visit the Ballarat Tramway Museum near the Botanical Gardens, take a ride on the tourist tram, enjoy a peddle boat ride on the lake and of course not to be missed is the Botanical Gardens dating back to trees planted in 1863. Whilst at the Botanical Gardens view the statuary including the Prime Minister's Avenue featuring bronze busts of every Australian Prime Minister. In the historic statuary pavilion you will see the marble statues including the famous Flight From Pompeii. All this a short stroll from Ayrvale House.

Why not join the many people who take a six kilometre walk around Lake Wendouree with many eateries / bars to stop for a coffee or ale along the way. While strolling through from Lake Gardens to the lake, stop off at the famous begonia pavilion. If you are out of season for begonias you can always be assured of other magnificent floral displays.

Discover the range of upmarket eateries dotted throughout the city's tree lined streets, the colonial history on the Heritage Walking Trail. Spend time pottering through antique shops, picnic in the gardens, check out the cemeteries with graves of Stockade heroes and early pioneers. A fascinating Chinese graveyard can be found in the cemetery at the top of Lydiard Street. Whilst staying at Ayrvale why not explore Ballarat's historic buildings, Ballarat Fine Art Gallery which houses the country's largest and finest regional collection of art, visit her Majesty's Theatre circa 1858, and mainland Australia's oldest continuously operating theatre where concerts, plays, live shows and the famous South Street competitions are held.


The Ballarat Aquatic Centre (swimming pool and gymnasium) 900 metres with baseball, hockey and croquet all in the same location at Prince of Wales Park. A very easy walk.

A stones throw is the commencment of the Ballarat-Skipton Rail Trail is a 53km, upgraded trail along the old Ballarat-Skipton Railway line with new signage, seating and rest huts. Passing through farmland, historic towns, bushland as well as areas of conservation and historic significance, it is suitable for cyclists, walkers, and horse riders of all levels of experience. There is a gentle maximum gradient of 2% along the length of the trail. With a host of food, and visitor attractions along the route, the trail provides a unique opportunity for visitors to discover the region. Beginning at Blind Creek Rd (Opposite Mars on Ring Rd, Ballarat West).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phoenix - great stay We stayed in the Phoenix, clean and comfortable property close to gardens, sports facilities and Main Street. Slept 6 people comfortably and was spacious enough that we weren't on top of each other. A wonderful stay.

Great quiet location handy to railway station, shopping centre and lake gardens, good sized bedrooms, 2 with queen/double beds, good heating, good sized garage and rooms, excellent owner easy to work with. We will be back again and again.
