CAFE'S - FOOD SCENE - COFFEE LOVERS
The Lake House is surrounded by a range of quaint cafés and other eating options. At adjoining Lake Weeroona you can treat yourself to a relaxed breakfast at the boardwalk café right on the water's edge.
A walk around this popular lake is a great way to connect with locals. Lovers of quality coffee can choose from a range of quirky and well patronised cafés within walking distance. The vendor selling coffee from the orange van by the lake has great reviews and devoted clientele.
The Bridge Hotel, just two blocks from the Lake House, provides counter meals, fine dining restaurant and options to eat alfresco under elm trees. The hotel is on the doorstep of the city centre where one can explore historic buildings, restaurants, arts precinct and the exceptional landscaped gardens of Rosalind Park.
TALKING TOURIST TRAMS
Bendigo's iconic talking tourist trams roll past the front windows of the Lake House - see photo- as they travel along Bridge Street, around part of the lake and into the city centre. Each tram has a unique design and colour.
The paths around Lake Weeroona form part of the excellent network of regional cycling tracks that wind throughout the town and extend into the surrounding countryside.
HOSPITAL round the corner - 2 minute walk
The new Bendigo Hospital is located just around the corner in Bendigo's medical hub. The Lake House is ideally positioned for anyone looking after or visiting friends and family undergoing medical treatment.
SPORTING VENUES, SHOW GROUNDS & FARMERS MARKET
The Lake House is situated beside the main sporting strip with the Tennis Centre opposite the lake, followed by the Tom Flood Sports Centre, Aquatic Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Sporting Complex. The nearby show grounds are the venue for a food / bric-a-brac market every Sunday from about 9am to 12noon. Other local events such as music festivals are also held at the grounds. The Bendigo Farmers Market in the carpark beside the court house is held on the second Saturday of the month from 9am - 1pm. Go early for the best local produce
All parking configurations are covered. Guests can park in either the front driveway or side driveway which is under shade, or alternatively anywhere along Nolan street immediately bordering the property, which has no parking limits and the capacity to accommodate long vehicles such as 4WD's towing a caravan.
Fees are based on a standard of two persons. Additional guests is $30/night. Toddlers under 2 years of age are free if using the port-o-cot provided or sleeping in parents bed. Please ensure you advise owner of any toddlers in booking details.
