Nestled in the Harcourt Valley, Granite House B&B is a hand-built cottage of local stone. Enjoy a relaxing and private stay in this self-contained cottage in a pretty garden setting with rural views. Snuggle by the wood-burning fire in winter and enjoy the unique character of the cottage which is decorated with art works and a mix of antique, handmade and modern furniture.

Prepare yourself a leisurely breakfast with provisions including local free-range eggs, cereals, breads, jams and honey, local fresh fruit or fruit compote, leaf tea and plunger coffee. In fine weather eat outside in the garden under the white mulberry tree.

We provide hotel quality linen, towels and cosy bath robes. The cottage has a comfortable queen bed, dining area, reading nook, kitchen lounge-room and a large bathroom with shower. There is a dedicated parking space conveniently located near the cottage entrance. Your hosts are nearby in the main house to assist with any last minute needs and information.

Granite House B&B is near apple orchards, wineries and cideries. Mount Alexander is at our doorstep for you to enjoy bushwalking and sightseeing. The area is also popular for bicycle riding.

Pop down to the local store to get the papers, a coffee and some fresh Harcourt apples or travel five minutes further to our nearest café in a nursery garden setting.

Conveniently located between Castlemaine 12 kms and Bendigo 32 kms and 45 minutes from the Spa Towns of Daylesford and Hepburn, Granite House B&B is the perfect stepping off place for you to enjoy the attractions in these towns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Cottage Had a lovely stay at Granite Cottage. Everything was beautiful. A warm fire waiting for us, fresh breakfast provisions ranging from sour dough bread, fresh fruit, eggs, juice etc...We had dinner at the local cafe which was great, then speant the night in front of the fire! The cottage was clean and cosy, the only disappointing thing was I had to leave!! Thank you Robyn, I'm sure you'll be seeing us again!! Bec & Darren.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous B&B We had a simply wonderful weekend staying at Granite House. It is constructed of granite, hand built by the current owners’ father and father-in-law - a stonemason – last century from the indigenous material – what a beautiful feeling it was to be in such a place. Very clean, very comfortable, a lovely place to wake up in, have breakfast in, relax in, sleep in: we had total privacy. Very peaceful, very quiet. Lovely garden outlooks from every window, the property is very established and beautifully maintained. Beautiful flowers, plants and trees. A true gem. Only a few minutes from Harcourt (we had dinner both nights at Goldfields Track Café and watched the setting of the sun through the trees) and about 10 mins from Castlemaine. A feeling of peace and space, being domiciled in the Harcourt Valley at the foot of Mount Alexander. Only a few minutes from Bress: Cabernet Franc and a charcuterie board on the terrace made a simple and perfect lunch. In Castlemaine we walked in the Botanical Gardens; visited the Burke and Wills memorial, Buda Historic Home and Garden, and the Art Gallery; and had lovely coffee at The Governor’s Café at the Old Castlemaine Gaol. Thankyou so much Robyn and Nick for the beautiful B&B.
