Welcome to Wartook Retreat, a fully self contained house set on 50 acres in the Northern Grampians. This house has a fantastically relaxed vibe to it -with mountain views, visiting kangaroos and natural bushland just at your door. It's ideal for visitors who want to experience all that the Grampians have to offer but also enjoy the privilege of having their own private space and no distractions to make it a 'real' getaway.
Our house is situated in the lovely Wartook Valley, just a short drive to popular walking trails and Grampians tourist attractions. With 50 acres all to yourself there's plenty of open space where the local wildlife roam and it's lovely to sit back with a delicious wine and watch the kangaroos graze with the backdrop of mountain ranges or to walk the property and check out the local flora. Our place is a great way to take a 'real' break from a busy life. There is no wifi available and mobile phone range is not available at the house,so with no distractions you can't help but relax. We do have a landline phone which can be used to receive calls in and call out in the case of an emergency phone number provided on booking.
The only house hold water is from rain water. We do supply a 5 litre container of drinking water, however you will need to bring extra if you require.
We try to be as eco friendly as practicable so along with the rainwater tanks we also have a septic system that uses worms to break down waste from showers, toilets and other household drains. It has sub-surface drainage so also no digging in the yard and there are limitations as to what can be put down the sink.
