Indigo Cottage is named after the historic Indigo Goldfields and native Indigo flower. It is a weatherboard and granite-stone hideaway built in the 1890s for gold miner Mr Beetson who owned the property from the 1870s. It has been beautifully restored to tastefully combine the authentic heritage features with modern luxury.
Inside the fully self contained cottage you will enjoy modern kitchen and bathroom facilities, quality furniture, 3 luxurious bedrooms, open fire in the living room and reverse cycle heaters and air conditioners in all rooms. Views of the Gorge and delightful cottage garden can be seen from most rooms of the house, verandahs and deck and especially from the kitchen.
Enjoy your meal in the dining room with the fire, or in the kitchen or use the outdoor dining setting on the elevated deck with views.
Some comments you can see in our visitor's book:
"Well, what can we say...We love Beechworth and have stayed in a few houses...None of them has such a great space for our old mate Max ... So tick for Space Garden, Birds & more: tick for wonderful walks and coffee ad a huge tick for comfort, set up and comfy bed. But three ticks for the rainbow that hit the wall in the lounge this afternoon. We felt so relaxed here that my blood pressure fell by ten points...I need to return and soon" March 2016
"We loved this place so much we stayed an extra day. We appreciate the love and work that has gone into this home to make it old world stylish and unique. A beautiful memory" April 2016

"What a wonderful house. Very cosy and comfortable. Using the wood fire was great. Great to be able to chill out in house and look at garden after 3 weeks of travelling. Despite the rain and mist, we have loved the house and Beechworth. What a find" July 2015
