Location and Attractions
Cookinburra Park is located in the beautiful Indigo Valley and the property is surrounded by rural charm.
Situated in the centre of popular local attractions you are five minutes from the start of the Rutherglen wine region or 20 minutes to historical towns. It is a great location to have a day trip to the snowfields, with Falls Creek and Mt Buffalo being only one and a half hours away.
If you feel like exploring the 130acre property there is a number of different animals you may see along the way, including kangaroos, wallabies, chickens, sheep, mini goats, cows and horses both big and small and even a Camel.
Your hosts are more than happy for you to come along with them and get up and close with the animals, you can help feed the animals, check if the chickens have laid some eggs or help groom the animals. There is plenty of time for patting the animals as well. If you would like to help out on the farm, there may be some chores to do like collecting firewood, feeding out hay, and even helping out with the sheep herding.
The farm has a large dam where you can try your hand at yabbying or try to strike it rich by gold panning in Frying Pan Creek that runs through the property. You can explore a little further with a bushwalk in Chiltern / Mt Pilot National park or bring your own boat and spend a day at the Hume Weir or the Murray River fishing or water skiing.
Whether you are planning a relaxing holiday for two, family holiday, girls’ weekend to the wineries or a boy’s trip with a difference, Cookinburra Park has a charm that all ages can enjoy.
