Looking for something quiet, yet comfortable with all of today's modern comforts? The Goughs Bay Lake House laps up a breathtaking view of the beautiful waters of Lake Eildon and the Australian Alps beyond.
Elevated to take advantage of the glorious view, the Lake House features a fabulous deep decked verandah to sit back and relax watching the world go by, say hello to the parrots, the magpies or even the kangaroos jumping by, or indulge in a festive BBQ feast with friends and family on the 6-seater timber outdoor setting and stainless steel gas BBQ with wok burner.
Inside, the house is completely renovated with polished boards, modern carpets, block out blinds and curtains, and white washed timber panelling to give it a modern country feel.
The kitchen is as good as new with stainless steel appliances, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, plus it's fully equipped with toaster, electric fry pan, coffee plunger and plenty of occasional dishes for pre-dinner nibbles.
The open plan living area has 2 leather couches in front of the 42 inch television, a blu-ray player and a stereo with iPod docking station. There is also an assortment of board games to play.
Each bedroom has a travelling theme - the main bedroom is the French room - complete with fully tiled ensuite (shower, toilet & vanity) and there is a small walk in robe. There is also an English room with double bed, single bed, robe area and drawers, and there is an American room with double bed, single bed, robe area and drawers. The bathroom features a shower, vanity and laundry facilities (washing machine), and there is a 2nd separate toilet. Both bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner and shower gel available.
The rear garden features a deck complete with 6-seater outdoor setting and there are 2 firepits in the backyard - perfect for still nights toasting some marshmallows. Rooms are complete with bed linen and towels. A Telstra hi-powered antenna is installed at the property for Telstra customers wanting to use their own phone or internet services. Alternatively, you can buy a pre-paid Telstra SIM card/WIFI modem to access the world. Optus customers can get coverage at the Lookout and about 5 minutes towards Mansfield.
There is potential for undercover boat, jet-ski or trail-bike parking if required on site. Please reserve if needed.
The Lake House is perfect for 2-3 couples, 2 families or even getting the extended family together.

Goughs Bay is a 15 minute drive out of Mansfield in the wine/high country. It is a 25 minute drive to Mt Buller - perfect for winter skiing or summer hiking.
There is plenty to do in and around Goughs Bay.
The general store is only 70m away and has all your groceries, a bottle shop, ice-creams, gas for the BBQ, petrol, ice, post office and even a coffee machine.
Amongst The Sticks - a new restaurant that opened in December 2013, is proving popular on Friday and Saturday nights, plus Sunday lunches.
The Lake House is only 200m either way to 2 boat ramps, but you can also kayak, fish, swim, jet-ski, paddle board and even enjoy the little pleasures of skimming rocks into the water.
The Goughs Bay Boat Club is essentially the local watering hole, and is open from about 5pm weekend nights if you'd like a drink, and
There is much wildlife around to enjoy, and the skies go jet-black at night and sparkle with the brightest of bright stars and plenty of shooting stars.
Bracks Bridge, a tranquil swimming hole on the Delatite River is also great for fishing, kayaking in the rapids, and picnics. It can be found on Howes Creek-Goughs Bay Road, just a five minute drive from the house.
Only 7 minutes down the road is the Mansfield Zoo and a garden maze. In the local area, you can find places to horse-ride, trail bike, hike, do some wine-tasting, discover the local produce and take in some of the local markets, crafts and galleries. The airport is just 10 minutes down the road with joy flights and easy access to Melbourne.
There are many great restaurants in and around Mansfield or just enjoy the Aussie flavour of the local pubs.
Terms and Conditions:
Minimum 2 night stay.
$500 deposit for 2-4 night stay, refundable 2 weeks after stay.
$800 deposit for 5 nights + stay, refundable 2 weeks after stay.
$100 cleaning fee per stay. $150 cleaning fee with pets.
Maximum 2 dogs stay per night. Note: rear yard is not completely fenced. Plenty of room to run around supervised or tied to deck. MUST clean up dog before leaving premises. Dogs permitted on secure front deck unleashed, however not suitable for small dogs unsupervised. Pets allowed inside, but any damage to property will incur insurance excess.
No smoking inside house. NO EXCEPTIONS (or loss entire bond).
No phone line is on premises. There is a Telstra Smart Antenna on premises. Telstra customers have a boosted service in the area with the antenna, so you can bring your own phones or portable WIFI modems, or buy a pre-paid WIFI or SIM card to access the Telstra service in the area. Optus and Vodaphone customers will need to access their service either at the Lookout (beyond the boat club) or a 5 minute drive towards Mansfield.
$100 per night up front to confirm stay, bond + remainder of fees due two weeks before stay.
No refunds, unless another party books your nights.
At The Goughs Bay Lake House, we want your stay to feel like 'home.' There are provisions in the pantry and fridge that you are welcome to use, however it would be appreciated if you replace anything you finish with something of similar value for the next guests.
