Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Weekend Getaway My husband and I have just returned from a wonderful weekend away at Bridgeview Cottage. The cottage was clean, fresh, light and bright. It was well stocked with everything we needed and we just loved the locally made guest soap!  As the weather turned from sunny and warm to a bit chilly on Saturday, we were thrilled to get the chance of lighting the wonderful wood fire. After strolling back to the cottage after a yummy meal at the local pub we were pleasantly surprised to find that the fire was already set – we just needed to strike the match… so lovely sitting with a glass of red watching the flames. What a treat having to drive anywhere – everything is within walking distance and we spent hours wandering around the town, meeting some of the friendly locals and discovering little gems like the museum, which has a gallery and nursery attached. Bridgeview Cottage is very close to both the Jamieson and the Goulburn rivers…  can’t wait to return during the summer! We enjoyed walking along the well maintained walking paths alongside both the rivers, and our water loving dog loved “The Island”, a leash free area between both rivers. Jenny thank you for providing such a wonderful, comfortable, welcoming cottage,  we are looking forward to our return, which have now just booked for summer! Kaz and Al (and Benji)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most beautiful place to visit My family loved the cottage. My kids didnt want to leave. Everything was so clean and fresh & the house was equipped with everything you need. My kids played the games provided and watched the movies. Our husky loved the large yard & thoroughly enjoyed exploring in the bushes and running laps around the house, a perfect place to take the family pet. We visited the nearby playground and dog off leash area, also a short drive for our day at mount buller. This has been by far our best family holiday we have had. Thankyou Jenny and Scott

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete disappointment. If you were expecting a home away from home, this cottage falls very short. First impressions did not impress at all. Lightglobe blew in the lamp, the dining table appears like they have taken paint stripper to it, and when walking into the laundry the floor was giving way beneath my feet. We decided to give the cottage a chance, perhaps its second impressions would be better than its first. The xbox was non functional, we couldnt get it to open or work. The DvDs were either missing or so scratched they were not able to be watched. The TV provided is smaller than a standard computer monitor, so watching tv from across the room is a joke, and when i tried to start a fire in the worlds tiniest fireplace, the off brand firestarters couldnt get enough heat to light the kindling. Okay, I thought, okay. Not the best start. I replaced the firestarters with ones that work, and some brickettes. With the fire going, i wanted to prepare dinner. Lo and behold, the oven door doesnt close. I had to use the table and chairs to jam it shut enough to actually cook. When bedtime came around, shutting the laundry door proved impossible, as the door is cut too large for the frame. Searching in the bedroom for powerpoints, we found exactly one. So no charging phones at the same time as having the electric blanket on or the lamp. The pillows were so hard that we swapped them out for the couch pillows, and the back doormat must have been designed by a sadist, as stepping onto it was like walking on barbed wire. With no reception, there wasnt a fixed, pre programmed landline provided to contact the owners, we would have had to use the public telephones located somewhere in jamieson (no maps provided and with no GPS, not easy to find) or drive into the next town. With everything that was wrong, we figured there wasnt really a point. Considering the owners have had the cottage since 2004, they appear to use it to lump the things they dont want in their house, and do the bare miminum to make the house a genuine pleasure to stay in. Overall, a complete disappointment, your holiday time is far better spent elsewhere. Expecting a little bit of luxury was apparently expecting too much.
