Before making an enquiry on Stayz please note that the Farm is designed for 10 guests. Please, please do not post an enquiry if you have less than 8 adults as small groups are not viable. There is no charge for children. The rate will be $100 per person per night. You are welcome to bring less people but the rate may increase. This can be negotiated. More information about this is contained below.

The best way to describe Fawlty Farm is that it is has all the components of a very large house, but here they are separated and spread out over a small area. The focal point is the 'Big Top'. This is an open-sided but covered area of some 150sq.mt.

There is an open fire pit in the centre surrounded by 3 tables each seating 10 people.

The centre piece is the largest cedar Hot Tub (12 persons) in Australia.

One of the best Features of Fawlty Farm is our extensive Outdoor Kitchen situated under The Big Top. There are 9 different appliances to suit the most ambitious cooking team

Most impressive is the wood-fired, electric driven Roasting Spit that will take a Lamb or a Suckling pig. The Ex-Army Baking Oven, also wood-fired, has a very large stainless hot-plate ideal for breakfast cookups for your whole group. The BBQ is the latest gas Radiant Quartz Technology system. There is also a gas Smoker, Gas fired Yabbie pot,Pizza Oven and a Beer Keg converted to a nifty rotisserie that is ideal for a rolled roast or two large chooks. A dedicated Paella Burner with a 600mm Pan has many other uses. The half 44 gal. drum Charcoal Cooker is great for cuts of any meats.

The most unique feature of our Farm are the complimentary Tours and Cruises offered to our guests during their stay. These are guided by your hosts John and Sally Gilbert. Read on for more information and do take a moment to look at some of our reviews for mentions of these Tours.

Connected to this is a building that houses the substantial kitchen and living rooms as well as the bathroom (2toilets and 2 showers) complex. Behind here is the pool room with a wall plasma and reverse A/C. The bunkhouse is connected to these by a covered walkway. Here there are 2 rooms with 6 bunks in each. Next to these buildings are the four separate A frame huts that have a double bed and two folding camp beds in each.

The Lakehouse is a separate 2 storey cottage on our private lake. It has a Queen size bed and a slipper bath/shower upstairs. Downstairs is a kitchette, toilet, daybed andTV/Radio. Large double doors open out onto a deck with a 10 person dining setting and BBQ, built over the lake. Great in the Summer.

The whole property has a total of 5 double beds and 12 single beds as well as the 8 folding beds suitable for children 4-10yo..

The whole environment of the farm is perfect for a group of friends or family looking for a place with great facilities and loads of interesting accommodation. There is plenty of space for your cars boats and caravans. You can bring your dogs(enquire first) and horses. The private lake is stocked with fish and is safe for swimming but is not fenced. The 300 acres is steeply undulating country with a mixture of open grassy paddocks and dense natural bushland. Perfect for that getaway where the only sounds you will hear will be yours or the abundant wildlife.

Facilities and Pricing

The whole facility will accommodate 22 adults and 8 children under about 10yo. However under current regulations governing this property the maximum number of persons allowed to be accommodated as paying guests is 10. Obviously our housing facilities are greater than this so this at least provides a variety of sleeping arrangements for the guests.

Costs depend on a number of factors. Number of adults(we don't charge for children under 16) length of stay, days of the week, month of the year and number of days before arrival. Then there is the old supply/demand factor meaning that we are quite negotiable on price if we really need your booking (Bums on seats!)

Long weekends, Easter, Cup Weekend all vary. As a rule of thumb, the per person per night cost would be close to $100 based on 10 adults being accommodated.

The property is primarily set up for Outdoor Leisure and Recreation. Our main pursuits are Bushwalking,Mountain bike riding, Fishing and Horse Riding. Please enquire about details regarding these facilities.

The Taylor Bay area of Lake Eildon is unique in that access to the Lake from here is only possible through private land. Also there are no public facilities in the Bay, making the area very safe as well as quiet and secluded. The small but delightful township of Eildon is only 7 mins. away and the Dam wall with year round boat launching is another 5 mins. Remember that when water levels are low, the most water is at the Dam wall and you will see from the map how close Taylor Bay is from the wall.

We have the largest pontoon in the Bay that has two 9mtr. sides that will accommodate your superboats. No charge for guests.

Fawlty Farm is a Hosted Self-Contained Accommodation. This means that your

hosts, John and Sally, reside on the property but in a seperate dwelling.

We are here to help and assist you but not necessarily joining your group.

During your stay we are able to offer you several tours of aspects

of the property and the area in our ex-army 11place Landrovers. We also include a tour of Lake Eildon in our 20person Dayboat the MV 'Fawlty Princess' as well as a visit to our 80yo operational quartz reef Gold Mine(we often come back with some gold) and a trip to the private and very exclusive Ridge hut for a Sundowner. Please enquire. Come with us on a drive to see if you can spot the Small Three (Kangaroo, Wombat and Echidna!).

You are required to bring all your own food and drinks. All bedding is supplied

but linen and towels are not .

You will have to do all your own cooking and cleaning with a view to leaving the premises as you found them.

Thank you for reading all of this! Hope to hear from you soon. Cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of a kind experience A group of us (adults and kids) stayed here for the weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday after staying here a couple of years prior. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend. There are a great variety of rooms and sleeping arrangements and loads to do on and around the property. John and Sally are excellent hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We got loads of use out of the outdoor cooking equipment and sound system, we had a roaring fire each night and used the hot tub until the wee hours of the morning. Even though the weather was cold and sometimes wet - we were always comfortable and cozy. We capped off the weekend with an exploration of the old historic mine on site and with John's help I even found me some gold! I recommend preparing ahead and getting good use out of the smoker / spit roast etc. and even if its winter - don't forget your togs. We are already planning our next trip back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW,Fabulous Place for a Family Gathering !!! Fawlty Farm was so much better than I thought it would be. There is something for everyone. The owner was extremely helpful and made sure our stay went smoothly. The view from the top is amazing. Tramopline, Golf, etc perfect places for us to gather. The fire at night allowed us to play outdoor games at the tables. The kitchen has everything you could need to create perfect meals. We had lunch on the boat....and enjoyed a splash in the lake. I can't wait to return in the near future. Such peaceful surroundings. Thank you.

The house, Big Hot Tub and facilities were better than what we could have hoped for. Bedroom / Toilet are unexpected clean. We love the wood fire BBQ. The hot tub and fire pit under the Big Top was fantastic. John were excellent hosts and took us out on his lake boat and up to the ridge hut for a sundowner to enjoy the Cheese and Champagne which is very wonderful. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful scene and fantastic host Fawlty farm is a great place to stay for big groups. We came there for 4 days with 4 families. The kitchen and outside BBQ meet all our demands. The outside facilities offer a lot of activities for our kids. It is so relaxing in the hot tub and we always have a good chats around the bonfire at night. John, the host arranges all the events for us and spends lots of his time taking us to his gold mine, Taylor bay and see the sunset. We all enjoy our stay in this beautiful Fawlty Farm and appreciate John's hospitality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Family Holiday! Our family of 14 has always struggled to find somewhere to suit us, but we have finally found the place! We stayed 6 nights at Fawlty Farm and it was simply fantastic! The set up of the property worked so well as it gives everyone their own space to sleep, but brings everyone together throughout the day and evening with the superb entertaining areas. The house itself has everything you could need, an awesome kitchen, outdoor cooking facilities, huge spa, and the big top area is amazing for sitting around the fire pit at night and having a few drinks. John and Sally were such generous hosts and so much fun to be around, but at the same time not invasive in the slightest. They took us out on their barge on Lake Eildon where we could dock our boat, on a tour through the gold mines where we found some gold, and we had the most incredible night with John drinking wine undercover in front of a fire at their lookout as the sun went down and a storm rolled in. Was truly a night that we will never forget! There is so much for everyone, and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. We'll definitely be back!!
