Jaipur – Bonnie Doon is nestled alongside the Strathbogie State Forrest, set in the ranges below the wild dog rocks where Ned Kelly was hiding 8 days before the shoot-out in Mansfield.
This historical property is featured with loads of charm and character that dates back in time.
There are beautiful views of the surrounding forest every which way you look, 360 degree views, of mountainous hills, surrounded by native forests, green pastures and true Australian history with caves and water ways to explore. A true country escape from the hustle and bustle.
Perfect for bush walks, a picnic on the lush green grass, bring your boat, bike, motorbike or 4x4 and explore the 60,000 hectares that makes up the State Forest backing onto the land known as Jaipur.
Jaipur consists of a series of rammed earth pavilions.
“Rammed Earth” is a technique for constructing foundations, floors, and walls using natural raw materials such as earth, chalk, lime, or gravel.”
This property itself offers 30 acres of land, where you can walk to the Strathbogie State Forest.
There are kangaroos, wombats and beautiful bird life to view all day long while taking in the breathtaking views during the day and the spectacular stary skies at night.
We are an environmentally friendly house. The property runs on large solar power panels for electricity, bottled gas and tank water – so we ask all our guest to be mindful of usage whilst at the beautiful Jaipur.
There is always enough power, gas and water to accommodate large groups, however we only ask for our guests to be conscientious during their stay.
We want all guests that visit Jaipur to experience how it was set up living off the land with a modern and quirky twist.
There are 4 separate living quarters known as Pavilion’s:
Pavilion 1 sleeping 6 guests offers 2 separate & private rooms both with double entry/exit doors to the front verandah and shared bathroom
Bedroom 1 - king bed
- hanging and draw space
- in room bar fridge
Bedroom 2 - rustic queen bed plus 2 single beds
- Wardrobe and draw space
- in room bar fridge
Further down the external carriage way is Pavilion 2 sleeping 4 guests:
This is like the main house of the property.
Containing 2 separate bedrooms, the master boasts a king bed while the second bedroom has 2 comfy singles beds. The large and rustic bathroom offers a large open claw foot bathtub and free standing shower and toilet.
Further down the hallway is an open plan lounge room with a plush velvet couch, wood log fire wood supplied, TV & DVD, board games and other toys to keep the youngsters entertained whilst your relaxing.
Jaipur is full of comfort, with bedlinen and towels supplied for our guests upon arrival.
Sleeping a total of 10 guests, Jaipur is ideal for families, large groups, work team building escapes and so much more.
Pavilion 3: better known as the common area is a great place to bring your group together, with the open plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area plus the outdoor entertaining and BBQ area.
The kitchen is fully functional with a rustic feel. There is a large industrial gas stove top, oven and grill, loads of stainless steel bench space, large fridge/freezer for ample food storage and a triple basin sink to wash up. Pop the kettle on and wait for the old time whistle of the kettle to tell you your cuppa is ready and waiting.
Truly amazing ambience, surrounded by French style window’s that capture the views through every window.
Outdoor and undercover, there is a functional BBQ with a large 12 seater outdoor setting with ample chairs to sit and have your beverage of choice. Take some pictures of the stunning surrounds and let your holiday be the envy of all your friends.
There are condiments supplied to get you started, tea coffee, sugar, milk, toilet paper, etc. We ask our guests to please bring additional supplies.
Jaipur is only 10 minutes from Bonnie Doon and approximately 25 minutes to Mansfield township.
All the sleeping pavilions are connected by undercover walkways. The elite glamping type feel this property has to offer is a sheer sensation and memorable experience that is a must experience when visiting the Victorian high country.
The aroma of the rose vines is just the beginning of what is to be a holiday escape that will be remembered for a long time to come.
There is even a fire pit to light up as the sun goes down during the cooler months.

We can also offer the property for weddings and other significant events as suited. We are able to accommodate a stay for 10 guests; however, the land can facilitate a venue set up with beautiful surrounds.
