Merrawarra Minor is an architect-designed Australian Modernist residence, located on a 2000 acre mixed-farming property in Merriang, in the Victorian alpine valleys. Designed in 1963 by Morrish, Nelson and Vaughn, it is perched high on a ridge above the confluence of the Ovens and Buffalo Rivers, taking in vistas along the lengths both alpine valleys, intersected by the granite bluffs of Mount Buffalo. No room is without a view of the valleys, hills or mountains.
This expansive residence is ideal as a corporate retreat, for small private parties up to 20 people, special occasions and family get togethers and as the base for a luxury holiday. While Merrawarra Minor sleeps eight, there is space to host functions such as luncheons, cocktail parties and small conferences. Though not a function centre the facilities allow for small group catering options. The property is also wheel-chair friendly.
At the heart of Merrawarra Minor lies a commodious lounge flowing into a grand dining area, flanked by a fully-equipped kitchen. Two king bedrooms at opposing ends of the residence have en suites and dressing rooms, while a further two queen bedrooms are served by a spacious bathroom and a powder room. Outdoor living takes place around the swimming pool in the paved courtyard lined with shady pergolas. A large laundry and ample undercover parking complete the residence.
Surrounded by hop fields, vineyards and paddocks of grazing cattle, Merrawarra Minor offers complete privacy.
