Rated 2 out of 5 by from Deceptive photography is just the start The opening foto is not of the cottage, 2nd bedroom has an enSuite and there are pics of the enSuite and the bedroom but not in a way that you can see no door between the bedroom and ensuite or the fact that the toilet is 2 metres from the bed and visible, the main bedroom has an old exhaust fan built into a wall, these fans should have shutters on their outside that open and close when the unit is turned on/off, this fan doesn't so the bathroom is fully open to the outside temperature hardly comfortable when it's freezing outside, also the he's has no capacity for a bath if someone else wants a shower, firewood is extremely rationed for the fireplace in the very tiny sitting room, to top all this off the owners deducted $150 for a scorch mark on a carpet mat in front of the fire, I explained two of the 3 fire tools are broken and bit of wood did fall on the mat, which was an off cut of the carpet in the rest of the place, this was ignored till vcat proceedings were to be commenced then they said if I was so upset they'd refund it, I felt we were dealt with by dishonest people from start to finish and beyond, wir? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful cottage in heavenly surrounds We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Tara House Boutique. The photos on the internet do not do the property justice! We arrived late on a Friday evening to find the heaters on, scented oils burning, firewood in the fire place and breakfast provisions for the next morning. (Sour dough bread, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, avocado, orange juice, milk, coffee and gourmet drinking chocolate. Too many treats to mention. Everything was thought of. The cottage itself has loads of character, old world charm and is very comfortable and spacious. We had total privacy from the main house and we were visited daily by the owners three little cheeky dogs which our girls absolutely loved. The property itself has the most amazing tranquil gardens with 100 year old trees. Siobhan was a warm and friendly host and she shared some of the history of the property and grounds with us. If you're looking for a place to unwind and relax and still be 4kms from the centre of Healesville then this is the place for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Charming We had a wonderful family weekend in this beautifully appointed little cottage. The gardens are heavenly. We stayed for 3 nights and were provided with generous (quality) breakfast supplies which were more than enough for our entire stay ( and we were invited to pick lemons and oranges from their orchard on the property). Although the "main" house is close to the cottage, we hardly saw or heard another soul - apart from the 3 (non barky) little dogs who turned out to be a highlight of the stay for our girls. (On our arrival the owner said they would keep the dogs away if we wanted). Very close to Healesville Sanctuary, the town of Healesville itself, wineries and Four Pillars Gin Distillery. We had quite cold weather for part of our stay and had no issue with heating or hot water. There was a little confusion over accessing the cottage on arrival ( I think we were meant to get an email with instructions but didn't)- however that was quickly dealt with by a phone call. We hope to return!
