Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring - no matter the season, what could be better than spending a night or two at Cloudhill Cottage to revive the spirit and resuscitate the soul?
Warburton offers a wide range of local attractions such as the Red Wood Forest, Ada Tree, Trestle Bridge, the Lotus Farm with the worlds biggest Lily, local markets, lovely wineries, the beautiful Yarra River, Yarra Glen horse racing, Yarra Valley chocolatier and ice creamery, and the Yarra Glen market, all only a short drive away.
Or if you'd prefer to escape from it all, why not spend your getaway snuggling up in front of a warm fire with a hot chocolate and cookie or even enjoying a wine in the outdoor patio? Cloudhill Cottage is a short walk to many lovely dining areas such as Three Sugars Café, the Alpine Hotel and Little Joe's - so you don't even need to do the dishes
Cloudhill Cottage is a beautiful 100 year old cottage that we have lovingly re-furbished to honour her history, while providing today's comforts.
Sitting proudly on the hillside amidst mature trees and palms, Cloudhill Cottage offers magical misty views of the Warburton Ranges from both the north and east decks, overlooking some of Warbie's historic buildings and only minutes walk to the Yarra River, Rail Trail, restaurants, cafes, local pub, shops, Arts Centre, golf course and the Tourist Information Centre at the iconic Waterwheel.
The fully equipped kitchen/dining area provides the opportunity to eat in by the cosy wood heater in Winter or in air-conditioned comfort in Summer and then relax in the spa. For the more brave-hearted, why not bathe under the stars in the original claw foot bath on the south deck?
Please note that the outdoor bath is fully plumbed to provide hot and cold water but is in original condition and sits under an ancient oak tree that drops leaves and acorns in Autumn/Winter. This can lead to staining and may be a bit "rustic" for some, although we do provide a rubber mat to place on the bottom of the bath
The lounge is air-conditioned and also offers ceiling fan, leather chaise suite, stereo and 46" TV leading out onto the east deck, with its beautiful views, outdoor setting and electric BBQ.
Both bedrooms have mountain views, reverse cycle air-conditioning, ceiling fans, queen size beds with quality pillow-top mattresses, electric blankets, 1000 thread count bed linen with cosy doonas and snuggle rugs to make your stay beyond comfortable.
As well as the spa, the bathroom has a separate shower, and fluffy white towels.
In the kitchen you'll find a gas cook top, full size electric oven and fridge, microwave, slow cooker, rice cooker, dishwasher, baking dishes, utensils and quality cutlery and crockery.
The pantry is stocked with olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, plunger coffee, an assortment of teas and our basic "welcome pack", which includes milk, local jam and locally baked bread. Free range eggs and bacon can be arranged for you to cook via prior arrangement.
The driveway is quite steep but is concreted from the street to a flat area at the top, where there is room to turn.
Cloudhill Cottage is a very special place - magical, charming, romantic, nurturing and enchanting - and is an ideal escape from the everyday.
